02 Aug 16:37 Bottas, left front puncture.
02 Aug 16:37 Gasly passes Stroll for P9.
02 Aug 16:36 Albon is flying now.  1:28.874 and the lap record so far today.
02 Aug 16:30 Last 8 laps into #BritishGP.
02 Aug 16:23 Albon overtakes Raikkonen for 15th place.
02 Aug 16:18 Grosjean finally pits on lap 32 and takes on hard compound tyres.
02 Aug 16:16 Giovinazzi handed a five-second penalty for a SC infringement.
02 Aug 16:08 Hamilton leads Bottas by 1.7 seconds. Verstappen and Leclerc follow the Mercedes drivers.
02 Aug 15:59 And now Norris passes Grosjean, up to sixth place. The McLarens are performing well.

02 Aug 15:52 McLaren made easy pickings of Daniel Ricciardo, Sainz in sixth and Norris in seventh.
02 Aug 15:51 Albon handed five-second penalty for causing Magnussen's accident.
02 Aug 15:43 All drivers pitted for the hard compound tyre except for Grosjean.
02 Aug 15:36 A flurry of drivers coming to pit.
02 Aug 15:35 SC. Kvyat out.
02 Aug 15:32 Hamilton leads by 1.7 seconds over Bottas.
02 Aug 15:26 Esteban Ocon and Lance Stroll battling for the eighth position.
02 Aug 15:24 Racing to resume at the end of lap 5.

02 Aug 15:17 Carlos Sainz made up two places.
02 Aug 15:15 Safety Car out! Kevin Magnussen slides out at Club.
02 Aug 15:15 Great start from the Mercedes drivers as they remain first and second after the first lap.
FINISH Our coverage will begin on Friday for FP1 and FP2, and will continue all the way through to the race on Sunday. We would've struggled to get pumped for it about 20 minutes ago, but after that climax, we can't wait. Thanks for joining us today, and see you on Friday.
FINISH Yes that's right, we're back here this time next week to do it all again. Judging by today, expect strategies to be a bit more varied.
FINISH Red Bull may be kicking themselves about bringing Verstappen in to go for fastest lap. If he stayed out, he would have won. Still, there's always next week...
FINISH Well, it wouldn't be an exaggeration to say the final lap of that race was more entertaining than the previous 51. Thanks very much to Pirelli for that.
FINISH The final order: P1 Hamilton, P2 Verstappen, P3 Leclerc, P4 Ricciardo, P5 Norris, P6 Ocon, P7 Gasly, P8 Albon, P9 Stroll, P10 Vettel, P11 Bottas, P12 Russell, P13 Sainz, P14 Giovinazzi, P15 Latifi, P16 Grosjean. RET: Raikkonen, Kvyat, Magnussen, Hulkenberg.
FINISH Vettel had a fight on his hands in the final lap as Bottas attacked him on fresh tyres. However, the German held on to take a single point.
FINISH Gasly ended up in P7 and is surely a contender for Driver of the Day. Albon made an excellent recovery behind him to finish in P8, while Stroll won't be happy with P9.
FINISH Given what happened to his team-mate, Norris will happilty take P5. He finished with the other Renault on Ocon right behind him.
FINISH Leclerc takes his second podium of the season, while Ricciardo managed to pass Norris to finish an excellent P4.
FINISH Verstappen went purple on his final lap but couldn't quite catch the Brit and finishes in P2.
FINISH He just about makes it to win the British Grand Prix!
Lap 52 Verstappen is catching, but it's the final lap...
Lap 52 Hamilton's tyres are gone!
Lap 52 A puncture for Sainz!
Lap 52 Albon meanwhile has passed Vettel and Stroll. He's P9.
Lap 51 Bottas comes in and comes out all the way down in P12. Leclerc is set to take a podium.
Lap 51 Verstappen then pits to go for fastest lap.
Lap 51 The tyre failed just past the pits, meaning he has to do a full lap.
Lap 50 The Finn has a puncture! Verstappen takes P2.
Lap 50 Bottas is hugely struggling now, with Verstappen closing in by around two seconds per lap.
Lap 49 Gasly takes P9 from Stroll! His excellent start to the year continues.
Lap 48 Norris is being held up by Sainz and now has Ricciardo all over the back of him. Four laps left.
Lap 47 Ocon passes Stroll round the outside to take P8. With Ricciardo ahead of him, it's been a good race for Renault.
Lap 46 P12 now. Vettel and Gasly stand between the Red Bull and a point.
Lap 46 Albon takes P13 from Russell.
Lap 45 Stroll headed into this weekend hoping for a podium but has struggled today and is fighting to hold off Ocon in P8. Racing Point are missing Perez.
Lap 43 Bottas is starting to struggle with his tyres and his dropping back considerably. Go get him Max. Please. We need something to get excited about.
Lap 41 Maybe the move of the day from Gasly as he passes Vettel to take P10.
Lap 41 Albon passes Kimi with DRS to take P15.
Lap 40 Hamilton is two seconds ahead of Bottas and cruising now. Fun fun fun.
Lap 38 In response, the Haas has pitted for fresh hards. It was a poor stop though, and he comes out in P17.
Lap 37 Ricciardo has finally passed Grosjean, and Stroll quickly follows the Aussie through.
Lap 36 A five-second penalty for Giovinazzi for a Safety Car infringement.
Lap 35 Verstappen has just told his engineer to keep hydrated, in case you needed a reminder of how lonely he is in P3.
Lap 34 Latifi takes P15 from Raikkonen. Thanks to a certain ad, we know you take your time Kimi, but come on.
Lap 32 He won't be. Instead, he's come in to serve his penalty and put on fresh mediums.
Lap 31 Gasly passes Giovinazzi to take P12. Albon will be hoping to follow suit ASAP.
Lap 29 A train is forming behind Grosjean as Ricciardo is struggling to get past.
Lap 27 Stroll and Ocon getting their elbows out as they fight over P9. Behind them, Vettel doesn't have the pace to get involved.
Lap 27 We're at the halfway point of the race now.
Lap 25 Five seconds between Bottas and Verstappen now. It's plain sailing for Mercedes once again.
Lap 25 Norris passes Grosjean at Stowe.
Lap 24 Grosjean's long run means that Vettel is currently running outside the points in P11.
Lap 23 Sainz, aided by DRS, gets him a lap later.
Lap 22 Sainz tries to get Grosjean but the Haas holds him off. He's going well at the moment.
Lap 21 Albon has been handed a five-second penalty for the incident with Magnussen.
Lap 20 Bottas managing to stay within a second of Hamilton at the front.
Lap 20 The battle allowed Grosjean to hold onto P5, but expect Sainz to get him now.
Lap 19 Norris passes Ricciardo at the restart and then tries to get Sainz! He goes wide but managed to stay ahead of the Aussie.
Lap 18 But we're about to get some more - SC coming in.
Lap 18 Six laps of green flag racing so far. Thrilling stuff.
Lap 17 Hamilton compalining that the Safety Car is too slow. Probably still quicker than this year's Ferrari, mind.
Lap 15 This Safety Car was something of a saviour for all those on softs. They're now no longer at a disadvantage in terms of tyres.
Lap 15 By staying out, Grosjean got himself up to P5. Expect him to drop rather quickly at the restart...
Lap 15 So, everyone bar Grosjean has now pitted for fresh tyres. Hards for each of them. One stop races aplenty.
Lap 14 The top three had passed the pit-entry before the SC came out, but everyone else bar Albon, Leclerc and Grosjean came in immediately. The Mercedes', Verstappen and Leclerc have now done so themselves.
Lap 12 Another Safety Car! Kvyat has gone off and had a heavy impacy, with both wheels coming off. In response, a huge number of drivers are pitting.
Lap 12 Bottas is starting to close the gap on Hamilton. It's 1.1 seconds now. Go on Valtteri, give us a battle.
Lap 11 Vettel is struggling on the softs and has Gasly all over the back of him.
Lap 9 Hamilton is 1.7 seconds clear of Bottas.
Lap 8 The front three are already pulling away. Verstappen is doing his best to stay with Mercedes and is three seconds clear of Leclerc.
Lap 7 Ocon tries to pass Stroll at the inside of Stowe but doesn't quite manage it. That would have been quite the move.
Lap 7 Albon's pitting for a new set of hards.
Lap 6 No movement at the restart as everyone gets away cleanly.
Lap 5 SC coming in...
Lap 4 Stroll dropped down to P8 at the start while Vettel is still in P10. Albon's car seems okay and he's in P12.
Lap 2 It was an ambitious move by the Red Bull to say the least, and he may be invesitahted for it. Magnussen meanwhile is out of the car and okay.
Lap 2 Safety Car! Albon tries to pass Magnussen on the inside of the final corner and hits the Dane's wheel, sending him into the barriers and out of the race.
Lap 1 Sainz and Ricciardo make excellent starts to go up to P5 and P6 respectively.
Lap 1 And we're off! Bottas makes the better start and has the inside line but Hamilton just about holds the lead! Behind them Leclerc passes Verstappen but the Dutchman quickly takes P3 back!
14:11 The formation lap is underway. Here we go...
14:09 As expected, the McLarens, Renaults and Vettel are the only ones to start on the soft tyre. Mediums for everyone else.
14:05 Five minutes.
14:01 Racing Point haven't been able to fix Hulkenberg's car and he won't start the race. Such a shame for him and all those excited to see him. Hopefully this wasn't his last chance to drive in F1.
13:59 40% chance of rain today, say the FIA. After eagerly waiting for it last time in Budapest to no avail, we're not getting our hopes up.
13:55 A much more organised and effective anti-racism message from the sport this weekend. A video featuring all the drivers, and time set aside for those who choose to kneel to do so. All are now gathered for the national anthem.
13:49 Those issues are yet to be fixed and he may not start the race at all. An apt return to the sport for one of Formula 1's unluckiest drivers ever.
13:45 Hulkenberg's chances of a podium were already slim, but they're now pretty much gone. Racing Point has just confirmed that he'll be starting from the pit-lane. There were some issues with his car and they couldn't get him to the grid in time.
13:40 We've had a bit of everything so far this weekend in terms of weather. FP1 and FP2 took place in 30'C heat and yesterday wind caused havoc for various drivers. Things are cooler again today, but being Silverstone, the gusts are still lurking round every corner...
13:33 If you've been living under a rock for the last few days, you may be confused to see the Hulk there. Well, when Sergio Perez tested postive for coronavirus on Thursday, he was called up by Racing Point and, considering he's had zero preperation and no prior experience in the car, he's looked pretty good. It's unlikely, but what a story it would be if he *finally* got his first podium today.
13:28 The full starting grid, with penalties for George Russell (not slowing for yellow flags) and Daniil Kvyat (gearbox change) applied, is: P1 Hamilton, P2 Bottas, P3 Verstappen, P4 Leclerc, P5 Norris, P6 Stroll, P7 Sainz, P8 Ricciardo, P9 Ocon, P10 Vettel, P11 Gasly, P12 Albon, P13 Hulkenberg, P14 Magnussen, P15 Giovinazzi, P16 Raikkonen, P17 Grosjean, P18 Latifi, P19 Kvyat, P20 Russell.
13:22 To make matters worse for the German, he didn't have enough pace to make it into Q3 on the medium tyre and will therefore start on the softs. Most feel that running mediums from the off is a vastly superior strategy, and the top four and Stroll will definitely be doing so as, presumably, will most outside the top 10.
13:17 The Renaults start in P8 and P9, led by Daniel Ricciardo. Just behind them is Sebastian Vettel, who has been struggling with his car all weekend,
13:15 It was yet another strong Saturday for Lando Norris as he out-qualified team-mate Carlos Sainz at his home-track. The McLaren pair start P5 and P7, with Lance Stroll seperating them.
13:13 Max Verstappen was the closest man to the German team, but even he was a whopping seven tenths off Bottas. He starts P3 alongside Charles Leclerc who seemingly out-performed his car to make it to the second row.
13:10 As expected, the Mercedes drivers were in a league of their own. Lewis Hamilton was the quicker of the two, taking pole position by three tenths. Valtteri Bottas starts P2.
13:05 Before we turn our attention to today, let's run through everything that happened in qualifying yesterday.
13:02 Hello and welcome to live coverage of the British Grand Prix! All times are local, and the race gets underway in just over half an hour.
15:25 Tomorrow's race will start at the usual time of 14:10. We'll begin our coverage here an hour beforehand, and take you through everything you need to know. So, tomorrow, 1PM. See you there.
15:20 As they presumably cruise off into the distance, the fight behind them will hopefully be more interesting. Verstappen and Leclerc start side by side on the second row, while their team-mates and the Racing Point of Hulkenberg will on the charge further back.
15:17 For the sake of entertainment, it would be nice if the Mercedes drivers ended up with penalties. They're more dominant than ever, with no other cars able to get any closer than a second really. Sadly, no investigations for them.
15:15 There could still be further changes however, with various drivers under investigation for various incidents throughout qualifying.
15:13 That's that. This is tomorrow's starting grid: P1 Hamilton, P2 Bottas, P3 Verstappen, P4 Leclerc, P5 Norris, P6 Stroll, P7 Sainz, P8 Ricciardo, P9 Ocon, P10 Vettel, P11 Gasly, P12 Albon, P13 Hulkenberg, P14 Russell, P15 Magnussen, P16 Giovinazzi, P17 Raikkonen, P18 Grosjean, P19 Kvyat, P20 Latifi.
15:10 Vettel has his last lap time deleted and will start P10. A tough day for him.
15:09 Verstappen does enough to take P3 back from Leclerc.
15:09 Hamilton improves, Bottas doesn't! Yet another pole position for the Brit.
15:08 Leclerc moves up to P3, just P9 for Vettel.
15:08 Norris goes above the Canadian.
15:08 Stroll can't improve.
15:05 Here come the final laps...
15:02 After the first runs, no other car is within a second of Mercedes. A full second. My word.
15:01 Verstappen and Stroll go P3 and P4, with Leclerc and Vettel filling the row behind.
15:00 Bottas goes a tenth slower than his team-mate. First blood Hamilton.
15:00 A 1:24.616 for Hamilton.
14:59 Sainz goes a tenth slower.
14:59 First lap is set by Norris. A 1:26.456.
14:57 Here we go then, Q3 is underway. 10 minutes for everyone to put their best foot forward...
14:50 Those out are Gasly, Albon, Hulkenberg, Kvyat and Russell.
14:49 Gasly sets the same time as Stroll put is out as he set his time after the Canadian.
14:48 Albon can't improve and will start P12.
14:47 Hulkenberg puts on softs and improves to go P10 before Ricciardo goes P7 and drops him back down.
14:44 Everyone heading out for their final laps.
14:43 Hulkenberg currently in P11, with Russell, Ricciardo, Gasly and Kvyat also in the drop zone.
14:42 Hamilton goes three tenths slower than his team-mate. It'll be enough to get him into Q3 though.
14:40 Bottas just over a second clear of Verstappen in P2 at the moment. Show off.
14:39 Things are about to resume, and he's put on new mediums.
14:38 This is quite the dilemma for Hamilton. He can risk running the mediums once things are back underway, but one more imperfect lap and he's out. On the softs, he'd be under less pressure, but would have to start on them tomorrow.
14:34 Leclerc and Vettel went P3 and P7 before the session was suspended. They're split by Ocon and the McLarens.
14:32 Red Flag! The session has been stopped so stewards can clear the gravel.
14:31 Bottas does a 1:25.0 to go top, while Hamilton spins on his first lap, putting gravel on track.
14:31 Verstappen goes four tenths quicker than his team-mate.
14:30 A 1:26.580 for Albon, and Hulk goes less than a tenth slower.
14:29 Vettel and the McLarens on softs, but the rest of the Q3 favourites are on mediums.
14:28 Both he and Hulkenberg are on the medium tyre. Considering it's the best tyre to start on, they won't be the only ones trying to get into Q3 on them.
14:27 Green lights for Q2, with Albon the first out.
14:22 Russell meanwhile is under investigation for not slowing under yellow flags when his team-mate span. Q2 will begin in around 10 minutes.
14:21 Q1 is done. Magnussen, Giovinazzi, Raikkonen, Grosjean and Latifi all out.
14:20 Latifi went off and couldn't do another lap.
14:20 Hulkenberg takes P5 and Russell P11.
14:19 Both Haas boys can't get out of the drop zone.
14:19 Raikkonen can't improve and is out. Giovinazzi also out.
14:16 Cars heading out for their final runs...
14:13 Five minutes to go. Magnussen, Raikkonen, Giovinazzi, Latifi and Grosjean in the drop zone.
14:12 The Brit goes up to P10 on his first clean lap.
14:11 Norris now the only man yet to set a time after going off on his flying lap.
14:10 Verstappen and Albon go P2 and P6 respectively.
14:09 Bottas does a 1:26.0 and Hamilton goes three tenths slower. Vettel's first lap puts him P8.
14:08 Leclerc and Stroll do 1:26.5s to go P1 and P2.
14:08 Hulkenberg goes a tenth slower than the Russian and Gasly a tenth quicker.
14:05 Kvyat goes top with a 1:26.819.
14:04 Both do a 1:27.9, while both Haas boys do a 1:27.8.
14:02 Alfa Romeo drivers are the first out.
14:00 Q1 is underway.
13:52 You'll be pleased to here that there's a 60% chance of rain for the upcoming session. Fingers crossed...
13:47 In terms of grid penalties, Daniil Kvyat is the only unlucky man this weekend. The Russian took a new gearbox for this weekend and will therefore start five places back. Pierre Gasly also has a new one, but he avoids a penalty as he didn't finish the last race.
13:42 While Mercedes will surely lock out the front row, Red Bull may well have to fight off Racing Point to secure the second. Stroll was P4 this morning, while Hulkenberg ended up in P9, two tenths down. Considering he's had next to no preparation, he's looking good.
13:37 FP3 earlier today saw normality restored as Mercedes returned to the top of the time sheets courtesy of Valtteri Bottas. Lewis Hamilton was in P2, a tenth off, while Max Verstappen will be encouraged that he was just three tenths off himself.
13:32 Hello and welcome to live coverage of qualifying for the 2020 British Grand Prix! All times are local.
12:07 Qualifying will get underway at 14:00, and we'll be here to begin the build-up half an hour beforehand. With clouds looming, it could be a good one... See you there.
12:06 As expected, Mercedes return to the top of the time sheets, with Bottas in particular looking strong. Behind them, Red Bull and Racing Point are set to battle it out for the second row.
12:04 The final order: P1 Bottas, P2 Hamilton, P3 Verstappen, P4 Stroll, P5 Sainz, P6 Leclerc, P7 Norris, P8 Ricciardo, P9 Hulkenberg, P10 Gasly, P11 Kvyat, P12 Ocon, P13 Albon, P14 Vettel, P15 Grosjean, P16 Russell, P17 Giovinazzi, P18 Magnussen, P19 Raikkonen, P20 Latifi
12:02 That's that for FP3.
11:58 The latter locked up on the lap before so wouldn't have had perfect tyres.
11:56 Stroll and Hulk both improve to go P4 and P9 respectively.
11:49 Verstappen splits the Mercedes drivers to take P2.
11:49 Much like yesterday, Vettel has something loose in the brake pedal area.
11:47 Bottas meanwhile has gone half a second clear of Hamilton at the top.
11:46 Albon is out of the pits! He'll be glad to have some time to do a few laps before qualifying.
11:43 Sainz now moves into the top four himself, a tenth up on the Monegasque.
11:42 Not for long as Leclerc takes it from him. Finally, some encouraging signs for the Italian team.
11:40 P4 for Norris.
11:39 The German has just gone P5, nine tenths down on Hamilton. That's more like it.
11:34 With under half an hour left, Vettel is down in P18, ahead only of Latifi and Albon, who hasn't done a lap. What sort of car has Ferrari given him?
11:33 Hamilton takes P1 back with a 1:26.332.
11:32 Stroll goes half a tenth quicker than his new team-mate to take P4.
11:30 Bottas goes top with a 1:26.526. Nothing between him and Hamilton at the moment.
11:30 Verstappen goes P3 with a 1:27.335, just a tenth ahead of Hulkenberg who has improved.
11:28 P3 for Gasly.
11:27 Hamilton improves, doing a 1:26.568.
11:27 Stroll meanwhile goes two tenths quicker to take P6. Both on softs.
11:25 Hulkenberg goes P9 on his first lap.
11:23 It's a busy track now, with most drivers out on softs or mediums.
11:19 Hamilton meanwhile surpasses them both with a 1:26.825.
11:18 On the same tyres, Leclerc goes half a second slower.
11:18 Bottas does a 1:27.136 on softs.
11:17 Red Bull has confirmed that it's an electrical issue.
11:15 Just as Albon was about to leave the pits, the team told him to get out and immediately started to dismantle the car and work on it. Something wrong there.
11:12 A 1:28.539 from Sainz puts him top.
11:11 He then improves with a 1:28.879. Raikkonen goes three tenths slower on softs.
11:10 Vettel does the first time of the day, a 1:29.562 on the medium tyre.
11:05 The Haas and AlphaTauri drivers join him to do installation laps and come straight back in.
11:01 We're off, and Lando Norris is the first man out.
10:55 Five minutes until FP3 is underway.
10:51 While Stroll topped the second session, Max Verstappen was P1 in the first. Things weren't so good for his team-mate Albon however who had a heavy collision, losing the rear at Stowe and slamming into the barriers. Thankfully, he was okay, and the team look to have repaired his car for today.
10:43 Like Mercedes, Nico Hulkenberg too will be pleased about the cooler conditions. It was a baptism of fire for the German yesterday as he returned with next to no preparation on one of the toughest tracks in blazing heat. Even so, he got within half a second of his team-mate Stroll in FP1, and was seven tenths off in FP2, which the Canadian topped. Expect him to get closer today.
10:39 If there's a chink in the Mercedes in the armour, it may well be how the car fares in hot conditions. James Allison stated his concerns about it, and the fact that they failed to top a session yesterday suggested they may be founded. Still, with temperatures back down to 19'C, we'll have to wait a little longer to found out.
10:32 Yesterday was a scorching day in the UK, with temperatures soaring above 30'C. Today, things are more what you'd expect from British weather, which should have a huge effect on how things play out on track.
10:00 Good morning and welcome to a chilly and blustery Silverstone circuit for Saturday's final practice for the British Grand Prix weekend.
