14:52 Marcus Ericsson has been cleared to qualify after a huge shunt in FP2 yesterday, which saw the Swede barrel roll down the track at 215mph. He, his team-mate Charles Leclerc, and Renault's Nico Hulkenberg have all had DRS issues at times this weekend.
14:48 The rain seems to have abated for now, but the weather conditions remain around for the afternoon. It promises to be an interesting session.
14:44 News from Red Bull, with Max Verstappen now taking the Renault C-spec engine, like his team-mate Daniel Ricciardo. As it is only the third engine of the year, the Dutchman escapes a penalty for the change.
14:40 The rain is beginning to come down at Monza, with 20 minutes to go before the all-important qualifying session.
14:38 Sebastian Vettel topped FP3 this morning, after doing the same yesterday afternoon in FP2.
14:34 The session gets underway in just under 30 minutes, with Ferrari looking to take pole at their home circuit, in front of the famous tifosi.

12:48 Hamilton splits the Ferraris as he goes second, 0.167s down on Vettel.
12:46 Don't expect to see Hulkenberg back out on track in this session as his DRS has failed. He thankfully made it back to the pits without crashing.
12:42 Another improvement from Vettel, a 1:20.509.
12:41 Change at the top again as Vettel lays down a 1:21.035 to pip Raikkonen. Hamilton falls to third.
12:39 Raikkonen is now the one complaining about traffic because there are many drivers on out-laps and he wants to build up a gap.
12:36 Hulkenberg, who is facing a penalty for causing that Spa collision, leaves the pits on a fresh set of supersofts only to run into traffic.
12:33 He does but only as far as 13th place as he ran wide at Parabolica.
12:32 If this was qualifying, Alonso, Hulkenberg, Stroll, Ericsson and Vandoorne would be in the drop zone. Alonso is back out on track looking to improve on his time.
12:28 Change at the top as Hamilton goes quickest with a 1:21.3.
12:25 Raikkonen ups his pace to a 1:21.3 while Bottas moves up to fourth place ahead of Sainz and Ricciardo.

12:14 Early problems for Vandoorne as a lock up has flat spotted his tyre through to the canvas. He reports a bad vibration.
12:13 Hulkenberg joins the party, running a low downforce set-up with a skinny rear wing.
12:11 Vandoorne pips his team-mate with a 1:25.0 as Alonso is warned about the "wet patch" at Turn 1. Too late. He locks up.
12:09 First lap times on the board with a 1:25.7 for Fernando Alonso and a 1:26.7 for Stoffel Vandoorne.
12:07 Sauber have brought out the flash lights as they give his rear wing and DRS the once over.
12:04 Ericsson pits after two laps while Pierre Gasly reports that it is "very greasy" out on track.
12:01 Ericsson is the first man out in his rebuilt Sauber. The team broke curfew last night to put together a new chassis with a new gearbox and engine.
12:00 Green light and off we go...
11:55 Track temperature is up to 27'C and the track is currently dry. But there are dark clouds lurking overhead.
11:49 With Renault's power deficit to Ferrari and Mercedes, Max Verstappen isn't expecting to shine today. He said: "I don’t expect any miracles to happen today, but we will for sure try to improve our car and have the best qualifying possible"
11:42 Sebastian Vettel set the pace on Friday afternoon on a dry Monza circuit. The top ten times: 1 Sebastian Vettel Ferrari 1:21.105 26 laps; 2 Kimi Raikkonen Ferrari 0.270s 30 laps; 3 Lewis Hamilton Mercedes 0.287s 30 laps; 4 Valtteri Bottas Mercedes 0.698s 34 laps; 5 Max Verstappen Red Bull 1.049s 27 laps 6 Daniel Ricciardo Red Bull 1.191s 27 laps; 7 Esteban Ocon Force India 1.825s 29 laps; 8 Sergio Perez Force India 1.837s 31 laps; 9 Charles Leclerc Sauber 1.86s 20 laps; 10 Nico Hulkenberg Renault 1.958s 30 laps.
11:37 Good news this morning is Marcus Ericsson has been cleared to continue racing this weekend. He crashed heavily in Friday's second practice, barrel rolling his Sauber after his DRS failed to close and he hit the wall at speed.
11:30 Welcome back to Monza for Saturday's final practice for the Italian Grand Prix. All times are local.
15:37 Join us tomorrow morning for the third practice session, ahead of the all-important qualifying session here at Monza, tomorrow afternoon. Bye for now.
15:34 The two Ferraris were fastest then, with the two Mercedes and two Red Bulls following on behind. Force India were best of the rest, while McLaren and Sauber were at the back. Marcus Ericsson was the victim of a huge shunt in the opening few minutes, after his Sauber suffered a DRS fault.
15:33 Sebastian Vettel finishes fastest in FP2, thanks to his quick qualifying sim. The German also span out and hit the barriers at Parabolica. His team-mate, Kimi Raikkonen, had the best race pace average, on the soft tyres.
15:20 Meanwhile, the Force Indias continue to lead the way in the 'best of the rest' standings, with Ocon ahead of Perez in P7 and P8.
15:14 It has been another bad session for McLaren, sitting bottom of the field apart from Marcus Ericsson.
15:10 Vettel is currently out of his Ferrari, but is ready to get back into it and go for his race pace run.
15:06 Despite the spin, Vettel will probably finish the session quickest, as the race plans begin for the final 24 minutes of the second practice session.
15:02 Sebastian Vettel spins at the Parabolica and goes backwards through the gravel trap. However, the Ferrari man gets back on to the track and returns to the pit lane.
14:56 Valtteri Bottas goes straight on at the first chicane.
14:55 Scrap that, it is 0.9s now as Kimi Raikkonen puts in a 1:21.3 (SS).
14:54 The two Red Bulls have improved, but remain in P5 and P6. The top six are separated by 0.6s.
14:51 Meanwhile, Valtteri Bottas puts in his fastest lap of the session, with a 1:22.5 (SS), but he stays in P4.
14:50 Charles Leclerc boxes once again, with the radio message, 'I have a problem. Box, box, box.'
14:48 The qualifying sims have begun, with Sebastian Vettel giving up on his at the Parabolica, as he ran wide in the final corner.
14:46 There has been a lull on track as we hit the halfway stage of FP2. The two Saubers have not set times, due to the crash of Ericsson, and the same fault occurring on Leclerc's car. Fernando Alonso is the only other driver to have not set a time in the opening 45 minutes of the second practice session.
14:36 Bottas improves his time, but remains 0.8s behind Vettel. At the rear of the grid, Charles Leclerc has had to box, as his Sauber is also suffering a DRS fault.
14:34 The top three are separated by just 0.222s, while Valtteri Bottas is a further 1.1s behind.
14:30 Kimi Raikkonen now goes quickest, with a 1:21.8
14:27 Sebastian Vettel goes fastest with a 1:22.6 (SS), two tenths ahead of Lewis Hamilton (S).
14:26 Lewis Hamilton puts in a 1:22.8 to go quickest, ahead of Daniel Ricciardo and Kimi Raikkonen.
14:25 Carlos Sainz puts the first timed lap in, with a 1:25.7.
15:22 GREEN LIGHT! We are back underway in FP2 with 67 minutes left on the clock.
15:15 15 MINUTES INTO FP2: No times set during the session, with the red flag remaining out after Marcus Ericsson's crash.
15:11 Further inspection on the slow-mo replays show that Ericsson's Sauber had a DRS failure. The rear-wing flap did not shut when the Swede put the brakes on, and the lack of downforce led to the crash.
15:07 The Swede could do nothing about it, as his C37 just seemed to snap under braking and flew left into the wall on the outside of Turn 1. His car then just dug into the turf on that side of the track and barrel rolled around 100m down the track.
15:03 It is Marcus Ericsson's Sauber that has flown through the air down towards Turn 1.
15:02 RED FLAG!!
15:00 Marcus Ericsson is the first man out of the pit lane, as the clock started for the session.
14:59 Ricciardo is the only man to be using the new C-spec Renault engine. The works team and McLaren have stuck with the old spec engine, as has Max Verstappen.
14:57 The three tyres on offer this weekend are the medium (M), soft (S) and super-soft (SS).
14:54 It looks like it will be a dry session at Monza, and the teams will be rushing to get out and fit two session's worth of practice programmes in one, after the rain came this morning.
14:50 Daniel Ricciardo also had issues in FP1, suffering from a lack of power on his outlap at the very start of the session.
14:47 The two Mercedes only put in 14 laps between them during the first session, while Sebastian Vettel suffered a hydraulic leak, leading to a change of gearbox for the German.
14:45 Sergio Perez was fastest by five tenths from Kimi Raikkonen. The second Force India of Esteban Ocon was third fastest.
14:42 Neither of the big two teams starred in FP1, though. It was the new Racing Point Force India team that topped the timing sheets this morning.
14:38 Will it be Ferrari's weekend? Or will Mercedes bounce back after their disappointment at Spa-Francorchamps last time out?
14:36 The famous Monza circuit plays host to this weekend's race, the home race of Ferrari. However, the Scuderia last won in Italy back in 2010. Could this be their weekend?
14:30 Hello and welcome to our coverage of the Italian Grand Prix. The second practice session gets underway in 30 minutes time.
12:30 But Perez takes the chequered flag with a 1:34.000 on the dot! That is the first time this season that a non-Ferrari, Mercedes, Red Bull has topped a practice session. Lovely stuff. Join us again at 1500 local time for FP2. Cheers.
12:28 And Kimi goes even quicker - a 1:34.550 with two minutes remaining.
12:26 Raikkonen fancies a late crack at topping the timesheet...and he does. A 1:34.742 on inters. Poor Hartley drops to P3 now as Ocon skips up to P2.
12:22 Well, would you look at that? Hartley is now top of the timesheet with eight minutes left to go. Ricciardo slots in P2, a tenth behind, with Gasly, Verstappen and Sainz completing the top five.
12:17 Alonso creeps up to P14, but not too much more in the way of movement on the leaderboard. Many drivers have gone for an early lunch now with the track not drying enough for slick tyres.
12:10 A drying, quiet track has allowed Sainz and Hulkenberg to narrow the gap to Verstappen. Sainz is three tenths down, Hulkenberg a tenth further back.
12:02 Hi Max! He is the new FP1 leader after shaving a half a second off Bottas' best. The new benchmark is a 1:35.665.
11:56 Ricciardo, bottom of the FP1 timesheet, is back on on track now. He experienced a loss of power on his first install lap this morning.
11:53 Hearing now that Vettel's car is being checked for a possible hydraulic leak, hence the abrupt end to his FP1 session.
11:51 Perez pops himself up to P4, six tenths off the pace. Leclerc is the nearest rival to Mercedes, just four tenths down on leader Bottas.
11:50 Looks like Vettel is done for this morning. Out of car, out of his race overalls and back into the Ferrari motorhome. Not much to be learnt in these wet conditions.
11:43 A new leader at the top of the leaderboard, it's Lewis Hamilton with a 1:36.546 on the inters. Confirmation, meanwhile, from the FIA, that Ricciardo and Hulkenberg will start from the back row due to engine penalties. Hulk also had the 10-place grid drop for the Spa crash.
11:34 Verstappen, being very brave on the inters, goes for a spin through parabolica but no dramas. "Just a little trip," he says.
11:31 The rain is back, but that doesn't stop Sainz replacing Vettel at the top with a 1:37.424.
11:28 Vettel nudges Hulkenberg off top spot with a 1:37.867. Seven tenths quicker than the Renault driver. Raikkonen and Sainz are also on the board in P3 and P4 respectively.
11:19 Norris is back out on track, and is joined by K-Mag. Both Mercedes drivers, Bottas and Hamilton, are getting into their cars for the first time this morning.
11:13 Oooh, a timed lap is on the board from Hulkenberg. A 1:38.567 on wet tyres. He has a 10-place grid penalty coming his way this weekend for causing that rather dramatic crash at La Source in Spa last Sunday.
11:09 A few more drivers have braved the wet conditions for an install lap. Among them, Lando Norris, who is replacing Stoffel Vandoorne in the McLaren for this session and, who knows...maybe next season, too.
11:07 Ricciardo managed to get back to the pits in first gear, but reports of oil burning from the paddock. Not a good sign...
11:02 Uh oh. Ricciardo, due to have Renault's new Spec-3 fitted this weekend, has a problem. "No power," he reports.
11:00 And Nico Hulkenberg is off out as well, as is Marcus Ericsson. The rain is getting heavier again though...
10:57 And how about this? Cars queuing up at the pit lane exit. Daniel Ricciardo fancies an early install lap in the rain.
10:49 FIA director Charlie Whiting has officially given FP1 the go-ahead. Whether we see anyone wanting to risk their cars in these tricky conditions is another matter...
10:43 In case your summer break extended beyond the Belgian Grand Prix last weekend, a reminder that there are just 17 points separating Lewis Hamilton and Sebastian Vettel in the Drivers' Championship, while Mercedes are 15 points ahead of Ferrari in the Constructors.
10:35 It is absolutely bouncing it down at the 'Temple of Speed', so much so that GP3 practice was cancelled without a single car heading out on track. It remains to be seen whether we will get any F1 action this morning, but fingers crossed.
10:30 Hello and welcome to Monza - home of the Italian Grand Prix. It's round 14 of 21 in this fascinating 2018 season and we kick off with FP1, officially due to start in 30 minutes' time. But don't get too excited...
