13:45 Interestinglt, Valtteri Bottas completed the most amount of laps, doing 36.
13:40 Between Ferrari and Red Bull on times in FP1, the battle for fourth on the Constructors' Championship continued as Williams and Force India occupied the spots.
13:35 Ferrari duo Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen finished ninth and tenth respectively in a disappointing practice for the pair.
13:33 While Verstappen claimed P2, Rosberg finished third fastest and Ricciardo fourth.
13:32 In case you missed it, here's what happened in FP1: Lewis Hamilton claimed the P1 that he will need come Sunday to hold off Nico Rosberg in the championship race as he beat Max Verstappen in Fridays first practice in Brazil.
13:30 Welcome back to the Autodromo Jose Carlos Pace! We're underway in 30 minutes for the second practice session! Remember, all times are local.
11:32 That is it for now. Join us in two hours for the build up to FP2. Cheers.
11:31 FP1 also ends with Grosjean reporting grip issues which will make it more difficult for Haas to decide between brakes.
11:30 The chequered flag is out and FP1 ends with the P1 that Hamilton needs on Sunday to keep the championship alive. Verstappen is second and Rosberg third.
11:27 And off goes Vettel, spinning across the run-off as the back end of his Ferrari got away from him through Turn 11. He has flat-spotted his right front tyre and heads back into the pits.
11:26 The track temperature is up to 45'C as the drivers tackle the final few minutes in FP1.
11:22 Long runs taking place at the moment with Bottas on lap 15, Button on 14 and Hulkenberg on 13. Alonso and Palmer are on 17 and 16 respectively.
11:19 As for Kvyat's puncture, Pirelli are tweeting: "Initial conclusion: non tyre-related problem via a component issue." They are still looking into it.
11:18 Nasr reports that there is "something wrong" with the clutch.
11:16 Toro Rosso are just outside the top ten, booted out by Vettel and Raikkonen. McLaren are 13th and 14th with Button ahead of Alonso followed by Grosjean and Ericsson.
11:15 Dropzone so to speak: Ocon, Palmer, Wehrlein, Nasr, Leclerc and Sirotkin, who has yet to get back out there.
11:12 In the Force India v Williams fight the drivers are P5 to P8 with Bottas, Perez, Hulkenberg and Massa. They are, however, separated by just two-tenths!
11:09 Another hot lap from Hamilton, who upped his pace in the first sector but did not beat his previous best.
11:06 Ferrari are sticking to the medium tyres with Vettel ninth and Raikkonen sixth. They are separated by 0.002s.
11:03 Now it is a an 18.1 in the first sector for Hamilton. purple in the second sector, and a personal best in the third. It is a 1:11.895 for the Brit, 0.096s up on Verstappen.
11:02 Not a great start to the lap for Hamiton who does a 23s in the first sector. Verstappen did an 18s.
11:01 Puncture for Kvyat who reports that it is "rear right". He is coasting back slowly and you can clearly see that the tyre is down but it is still in one piece.
11:00 Hamilton has left the pits with soft tyres on his W07 and no aero sensor messing with his air.
10:59 Ricciardo goes third and still no sign of Hamilton.
10:57 Rosberg falls short! He is 0.134s off the Red Bull driver's pace.
10:56 The Dutchman is up in the first sector, up in the second and it is a 1:11.991 for Verstappen. But here comes Rosberg on a new set of soft tyres.
10:55 Bottas hits the front with a 1:13.129, 0.028s up on Hamilton. Now Verstappen starts a flying lap on the soft tyres as more drivers leave the pits.
10:52 Bottas and Palmer bring the number of runners up to four. Both are out on new soft tyres.
10:49 Renault have removed the Halo from Palmer's car and Sirotkin has left the garage.
10:48 Leclerc heads out as Alonso's first flying lap on the mediums leaves him 11th.
10:46 Alonso is the first driver to break the silence, swapping soft tyres for mediums.
10:42 Not great for Sirotkin who has finally climbed out of the RS16 and is walking to the back of the garage. Looks as if his day may be over with just 10 laps on the board.
10:40 The drivers are back in the pits to hand their first set of Pirellis back.
10:38 Kvyat is up to ninth on his soft tyres.
10:37 Ricciardo improves to third, Verstappen to fourth, Hamilton is back in the pits, Raikkonen and Vettel are seventh and eighth on the mediums.
10:35 Ricciardo is told to "cool the car this lap" after being told that his engine is "hot."
10:34 Rosberg heads back into the pits with 11 laps on the board, Hamilton has just started his 15th lap.
10:31 Ricciardo is up to fourth on the mediums and Verstappen is P6. They are both running the medium tyres as are Mercedes. Williams are on the soft Pirellis.
10:28 Problems for Sirotkin as he has limped back to the pits and pulled over to stop as soon as he got inside. The Renault mechanics are getting their jog on to go help their boy.
10:25 Fifth for Raikkonen and there are 16 times on the board. Make that 19 as Sainz, Hulkenberg and Vettel make their mark.
10:23 Massa slides into third and Rosberg goes sixth on his first lap. Interesting to watch the drivers tackle the elevations around this track.
10:22 Mercedes remind Hamilton to "stay off the kerbs as much as possible."
10:21 That's more like it, a 1:13.447 for Hamilton despite carrying all the aero sensors on the rear of his car.
10:20 Bottas hits the front as Hamilton loses time in the final sector. A 1:13.9 for the Williams driver, a a 1:19.1 for the Mercedes man.
10:19 Wehrlein reports that he is "not happy with the brakes." He adds: "I have a lot of vibration and it's pulling to the left."
10:18 Now here comes Hamilton is his bright yellow Senna-inspired helmet. Drivers can change helmets for one race each session and the reigning Champion chose to do so this weekend.
10:17 The McLaren driver posts a 1:14.2. Alonso is watching his team-mate's telemetry while relaxing at the back of the garage.
10:16 A 1:17.9 for Wehrlein is the morning's first time as Button starts a hot lap.
10:14 No mad dash to get out there as Perez walks to the entrance of his garage to have a look around. And with that Wehrlein heads out.
10:11 Pirelli tweet: "Were here with hard, medium and soft compounds (given increased aerodynamic and performance loads compared to previous years)."
10:07 Sergio Perez, Max Verstappen and Hamilton return to the pits and silence falls over the Interlagos circuit.
10:06 Haas, who have had brake problems, are running new brakes. They are starting on the old brakes with Grosjean but will swap at some point to a different type.
10:05 Mercedes are running comparative wing tests with Rosberg running the new front wing and Hamilton, with his W07 covered in aero sensors, using the new rear wing.
10:04 Daniel Ricciardo and Hamilton and now Rosberg head out for their installation laps as Massa, with his tweaked livery, returns to the pits.
10:03 Carlos Sainz, Fernando Alonso, Ericsson, Massa, Nasr and Hulkenberg now head out.
10:02 Palmer and Ericsson are both running the Halo in today's session.
10:01 Valtteri Bottas, Sebastian Vettel, Grosjean, Ocon, Kimi Raikkonen, Sirotkin, Leclerc, Palmer, Wehrlein, Button and Daniil Kvyat are immediately out on the track.
10:00 The light goes green and FP1 is underway with the track temperature 35'C.
09:56 Charles Leclerc is replacing Gutierrez in today's first practice. Sergey Sirotkin is in action at Renault for Magnussen.
09:51 It is going to be a weekend of mixed weather with rain forecast for Friday, Saturday and Sunday. But only when it the sun is not shinning (gotta love those weather forecasts).
09:47 This weekend marks Felipe Massa (and Jenson Button)'s final Brazilian Grand Prix weekend. The local favourite is going out with two Brazilian GP wins, three additional podiums and the hope of adding a fourth. Oh, and also a near miss in the 2008 championship race.
09:43 Big news this weekend: Esteban Ocon has been confirmed by Force India, Jolyon Palmer has been confirmed by Renault and Esteban Gutierrez has confirmed that he is leaving Haas. He is thought to be heading to Manor with Kevin Magnussen taking his Haas set alongside Romain Grosjean. Having lost out on the Force India drive to his Manor team-mate, Pascal Wehrlein is expected to remain at the backmarker team for a second season. The only other team with unconfirmed seats, Sauber, are believed to be set to retain Marcus Ericsson and Felipe Nasr. And that is that for the 2017 F1 grid.
09:38 Formula 1 history could be made this weekend as Nico Rosberg could wrap up his first World title. The German leads Lewis Hamilton by 19 points meaning should he win on Sunday he will be the new champion - also any scenario in which he extends his lead by a further seven points.
09:30 Welcome to the Autodromo Jose Carlos Pace, best known as the Interlagos circuit, found in the suburb of Interlagos, Sao Paulo. This is home to the Brazilian Grand Prix, has been since 1990 when Interlagos replaced Jacarepagua as Brazil's F1 circuit.
