28 Aug 15:49 Ricciardo finishes second and Lewis Hamilton from the back of the grid grabs the final podium position.
28 Aug 15:49 Rosberg wins the Belgian GP, it's the German's first ever win at Spa.
28 Aug 15:48 Final lap
28 Aug 15:46 A lap and a half for Rosberg , he's 12 seconds ahead of Ricciardo.
28 Aug 15:44 42/44: Rosberg looks to have this one in the bag, P2 for Ricciardo and an awesome result for Hamilton in P3.
28 Aug 15:32 The McLaren's power unit lacks straight line speed and it shows as the German makes mince meat of Alonso.
28 Aug 15:31 Vettel passes Alonso for P6.
28 Aug 15:30 Hamilton passes Hulkenberg to reclaim P3.
28 Aug 15:29 Vettel finally makes it stick after passing Massa for the second time in two laps, he's P7.
28 Aug 15:29 Vettel has a look at Massa, passes the Brazilian but then can't hold the position. The German isn't looking on point.
28 Aug 15:26 Hamilton pits and takes on medium tyres
28 Aug 15:23 Ricciardo just over one second clear of Hamilton
28 Aug 15:20 Can Hamilton pass Ricciardo or will Hulkenberg pass Hamilton and achieve his first ever podium spot
28 Aug 15:20 15 laps to go in the frenetic Belgian GP
28 Aug 15:18 28/44: Bottas passes Verstappen for P9 at the Bus Stop chicane.
28 Aug 15:16 Rosberg pits on lap 27 for medium tyres, his 28-second lead is enough to resume well clear of Ricciardo in P2
28 Aug 15:12

Radio to Hulkenberg: "Did ALO hit you?"

Hulkenberg: "Yes."

28 Aug 15:06 Half distance at Spa.
28 Aug 15:03 Raikkonen up to P12 after he overtook Grosjean
28 Aug 15:00 Remember Hamilton started from the pit lane...
28 Aug 14:59 Hamilton is eight seconds behind leader Rosberg
28 Aug 14:59 Huge lock up for the champion right after passing Hulkenberg
28 Aug 14:58 Woah! Hamilton is P3 after passing Hulkenberg
28 Aug 14:57 Vettel passes Kvyat for P8, that Ferrari is quick.
28 Aug 14:54 Verstappen reporting understeer
28 Aug 14:54 15/44:  ROS leads from RIC, HUL, HAM, ALO, MAS, PER, KVY, GRO, VET
FINISH That is it for from us, join us next weekend for the Italian GP. Well done Rosberg!
FINISH Verstappen is a disappointing P11 at his home race.
FINISH Rosberg's first win at Spa, and that gap in the championship is down to just nine points.
FINISH Hulkenberg, Perez, Vettel all cross the line next. Alonso, Bottas, Raikkonen and Massa complete the points.
FINISH Rosberg wins the Belgium GP ahead of Ricciardo and here comes Hamilton to cross the line. P21 to P3, not a bad Sunday for the World Champ.
Lap 44 Rosberg is racing toward the victory, Ricciardo looks assured of P2 and Hamilton is set to join them on the podium.
Lap 44 Final lap!
Lap 43 Bottas gets that down to 0.8s but now it is back up to 1.1. And Raikkonen is chasing them both down as well.
Lap 43 Bottas is 1.5s behind Alonso and 0.6s per lap quicker. Talk about a close call as we are on the penultimate lap.
Lap 42 Raikkonen passes Massa around the outside. Shame, Felipe's father is looking rather glum.
Lap 42 Massa appears to be having some tyre trouble and loses P8 to Bottas. Raikkonen, in ninth, is right there! Bottas is told that Alonso is a "sitting duck" so he should hunt him down.
Lap 41 It looks as if Verstappen's chances of scoring in Belgium are over. He is P11 but eight seconds behind Raikkonen in 10th. Will take a disaster for one of those ahead of him to bag a point.
Lap 40 Rosberg is closing in on the victory, which would be his sixth of this season. If the result stays as it, Hamilton's lead in the championship will be reduced from 19 to nine points.
Lap 39 A new fastest lap from Hamilton with a 1:51.692. He is still over 13 seconds behind Ricciardo.
Lap 38 Alonso is now 1.2s up on Massa, who is 0.7s ahead of Bottas. Raikkonen in tenth is a further 0.6s behind.
Lap 37 Although Massa has caught Alonso he is struggling to close up those final 2 seconds.
Lap 36 Rosberg is 12 seconds up Ricciardo, who is 17 ahead of Hamilton. But with just eight laps remaining, Hamilton will be hard pressed to chase down the Red Bull driver.
Lap 35 Vettel around the outside of Alonso and it is not even a proper fight.
Lap 34 Hamilton DRS's his way around Hulkenberg and is back up into third place. Vettel has overtaken Massa and this time makes it stick.
Lap 34 Hamilton has questioned Mercedes' decision to put him onto another set of medium tyres but he's told it is a "good tyre."
Lap 33 Vettel takes Massa around the outside but overshoots the corner and Massa comes back at him. Side-by-side the Williams pulls ahead.
Lap 33 Hamilton pits and he comes out in front of Perez in fourth place. The Mercedes driver has a used set of mediums on his W07.
Lap 32 Hamilton is told that he is closing in on his pit window, ie a big enough gap to Hulkenberg.
Lap 32 It is a great battle, especially watching these cars zoom around the Spa circuit at speed, seriously serious speed.
Lap 31 Perez has taken fifth place off Alonso, who has Massa less than a second behind him and Vettel 0.7s behind the Williams driver.
Lap 30 Magnussen has been taken to a local hospital. Renault reporting: "He has a small cut to the left ankle and has been escorted to a nearby hospital for further routine checks."
Lap 30 Hamilton is dogging Ricciardo around the Spa circuit but is told to "make his life hard, it'll help us later in the race." The 'his' refers to Hamilton of course.
Lap 29 Perez overtakes Massa around the outside as they come out of Turn 5. Great pass.
Lap 29 Hamilton is a second behind Ricciardo in the battle for second.
Lap 28 Verstappen pits for new set of soft tyres. He was P9 and comes out P15.
Lap 27 Vettel uses DRS to pass Verstappen for eighth place.
Lap 27 Rosberg pits from the lead, putting on a new set of mediums. He comes out P1!
Lap 26 Newbie Ocon is running in 16th place.
Lap 25 Raikkonen has pitted for new mediums and comes out P11. Kvyat and Gutierrez battling while Vettel has closed up on Verstappen.
Lap 25 Rosberg's lead is now 10 seconds after he was told earlier by Mercedes that he could kill his tyres.
Lap 24 Hulkenberg, Alonso and Vettel all pit. Medium, medium and medium with Hulkenberg and Alonso coming down the pit lane together. The Force India takes the position after a really close call.
Lap 23 Gutierrez and Palmer both pit. Nasr has a five-second penalty for leaving the track, and Grosjean is not showing a lot of speed in the Haas.
Lap 22 Make that ahead of Raikkonen and Gutierrez as the Ferrari driver breaks into the top ten.
Lap 22 Hamilton pits from third, swapping his soft tyres for a new set of soft tyres. But it is a long stop as the rear jack held tight to his W07. He comes out P9 ahead of Gutierrez and Raikkonen.
Lap 22 Hamilton reports: "Rear starting to slide a lot."
Lap 21 Verstappen is still P17 but is right on Ocon's rear wing and finally makes his move on the Manor rookie.
Lap 21 Alonso is still holding down P5 and by two seconds over Massa, who has Perez all over is rear wing. Vettel is behind them.
Lap 20 Bottas takes ninth off Kvyat with Vettel now four seconds ahead of the birthday boy.
Lap 19 Raikkonen asks Ferrari if he has a puncture after that contact but it told his tyres are fine.
Lap 19 Raikkonen now tries to pass Grosjean and the two touch. We should call this 'Have you touched Raikkonen day today?' So far it is Vettel, Verstappen and Grosjean.
Lap 19 Rosberg has built his lead up to 3.3s over Ricciardo. He needs to apply some pace as Hamilton is now just 9.6s behind in third place.
Lap 18 Hamilton overtakes Hulkenberg for third place. From P21 to the podium for the Mercedes driver. Remember this is damage limitation for the championship leader, who lined up on today's grid 19 points ahead of Rosberg.
Lap 17 Verstappen has pitted for a new set of soft tyres. He is at the very back of the field.
Lap 17 Kvyat has a train of cars behind him in Vettel, Grosjean and Bottas. Make that Bottas and Grosjean as the Williams driver passes. And now Vettel has swept by Kvyat.
Lap 16 Interestingly Ricciardo is keeping Rosberg in his sights. The gap quickly built to 1.5s but it has remained there since.
Lap 15 Vettel takes Grosjean through Les Combes.
Lap 15 Vettel has worked his way inside the top ten and is chasing down Grosjean. Grosjean is right behind Kvyat so the Haas driver also has DRS.
Lap 14 Back at the front it is Rosberg ahead of Ricciardo ahead of Hulkenberg and ahead of Hamilton, who just had a bit of a lock up as he tries to hunt down the Force India.
Lap 13 "This is f***ing ridiculous," is Raikkonen's assessment of Verstappen's driving.
Lap 13 Raikkonen tries again, Verstappen puts in a late block, and this is going to be a very very angry Finn.
Lap 13 Raikkonen and Verstappen are at it again. The Ferrari powers past, the Red Bull comes back under braking and Raikkonen is off the circuit. They are P14 and P15. and Raikkonen is again all over the back of Verstappen.
Lap 12 Hamilton takes fourth off Alonso with ease, and I do mean ease. He doesn't even have to wait for braking zone, he just flies by the McLaren.
Lap 12 Rosberg leads by 1.4s across the line, Hulkneberg is two behind Ricciardo, and Alonso and Hamilton are 4.1s and 4.8s off the pace.
Lap 11 And it is go, go, go at Spa. Rosberg pulls away from Ricciardo, Alonso attacks Hulkenberg but stays P4, Massa comes under pressure from Massa.
Lap 10 The Safety Car will pit at the end of this lap.
Lap 10 The race is back underway behind the Safety Car and race leader Rosberg is now on medium tyres. Alonso and Hamilton have both changed to new softs.
Lap 10 And those out: Magnussen, Ericsson, Sainz, Button and Wehrlein.
Lap 10 Behind them: Vettel, Bottas, Gutierrez, Verstappen, Ocon, Nasr and Raikkonen.
Lap 10 So the top ten as things stand: Rosberg, Ricciardo, Hulkenberg, Alonso, Hamilton, Massa, Perez, Kvyat, Palmer and Grosjean.
Lap 10 Drivers are putting on their helmets and Magnussen is in the medical centre with his left ankle being examined.
Lap 10 Race control says the grand prix will resume at 2.41pm local time.
Lap 10 McLaren CEO Ron Dennis is clearly happy with Alonso's P22 to P10 to P4 and comes over to shake the Spaniard's hand. That is an incredible recovery.
Lap 10 Verstappen clearly feels it was Vettel who was responsible as he "just turned in."
Lap 10 Mechanics swarm the cars as they are allowed to work on them, change tyres, etc. Max is out of his car and heads down to the Red Bull pit wall to let Christian Horner know his thoughts on the lap 1 incident.
Lap 10 Rosberg leads the queue of cars into the pit lane, crossing the line to effectively start lap 10.
Lap 9 The race has been red flagged. There is so much damage to that tyre wall, a huge tractor is on hand to repair it, but this isn't a five-minute recovery.
Lap 9 Lapped cars may now overtake as the Belgian GP remains behind the Safety Car in the wake of Magnussen's high-speed crash. Raikkonen is the lapped car and he's on a charge to get through.
Lap 8 This Safety Car is good news for Alonso and Hamilton. They are P4 and P5 respectively and just five seconds behind race leader Rosberg.
Lap 7 Palmer has leapfrogged Grosjean in that pit stop so great news for Renault. Hamilton is informed about the accident with Magnussen and asks if the driver is okay. He's told that he is.
Lap 7 Crazy run into the pits including Hulkenberg, Perez, Grosjean, Palmer and Ocon.
Lap 6 He has lost it at the top of Eau Rouge and slammed into the barriers. That was a massive impact. He is walking away but with a bit of a limp. The impact has not only destroyed the Renault but also the tyre wall. This could take a while to clera up.
Lap 6 Safety Car is out! Huge crash for Magnussen!
Lap 5 Ericsson is back in the pits and out of his car. Disappointing for the Swede. As for Button, he reports "someone hit me at the back at Turn 5 and launched me into the air."
Lap 4 Rosberg is leading the grand prix, and rather comfortably. The carnage behind him has allowed the championship hopeful to build up a lead of 3.4s over Hulkenberg.
Lap 3 VSC is out. Alonso is up to P10 and Hamilton is P15. And Button has retired.
Lap 2 Verstappen, Nasr, Button, Raikkonen - whose Ferrari is on fire - are in the pits. Wehrlein has stopped out on track, and a tyre failure for Sainz has put him out of the race. He tried to continue but his shreaded tyre, broken rear wing, force him to stop.
Lap 1 Vettel reports "I have damage." Verstappen, also with damage is dropping down the field.
Lap 1 Rosberg is leading the Belgian GP ahead of Verstappen, Hulkenberg, Ricciardo, Massa, Grosjean (great start), Bottas.
START Go at Spa! Good start from Rosberg while Raikkonen takes second off Verstappen. Verstappen dives up the corner and it is Vettel who has a damaged car in that mix. Verstappen also has a front wing issue. Raikkonen is now going so so so slow, puncture for the Ferrari driver?
14:03 The drivers line up and we are ready to race...
14:01 More tyre choices, P11 to P22 are all on soft tyres except for Hamilton and Alonso. The World Champs are both on the medium tyres.
14:00 It's 2pm and the formation lap gets underway with 21 drivers getting away from the grid without any troubles.
13:57 Ready for this? Air temperature is 26'C, track is 10 degrees hotter.
13:54 Three-stop strategy are the words being whispered through the paddock given the amount of tyre degradation.
13:52 Tyre choices: Rosberg soft, Verstappen supersoft, Raikkonen soft, Vettel soft, Ricciardo soft, Perez, Hulkenberg, Bottas, Button and Massa on the supersofts.
13:48 Regarding Ericsson, Sauber report: "We identified issues with the cooling system at Marcus' car. We need to do some changes,he has to start the Belgian GP from the pit lane."
13:45 News in is that Hamilton will be starting from the grid and he is already out there. Pit lane is now closed, only Ericsson is still in the pits.
13:41 Ericsson had a 10-place engine change penalty and Gutierrez a five-place penalty for blocking Wehrlein in final practice.
13:39 Alonso is starting at the back of the grid as he did not set a time in qualifying and has a 60-place penalty for engine changes, three.
13:35 A rundown of the grid: Rosberg, Verstappen, Kimi Raikkonen, Sebastian Vettel, Daniel Ricciardo, Sergio Perez, Nico Hulkenberg, Valtteri Bottas, Jenson Button and Felipe Massa.
13:30 The pit lane is open for drivers to make their way onto the grid. They have 15 minutes.
13:17 We have a newbie on today's grid with Esteban Ocon racing for Manor. He was signed after the German GP as Rio Haryanto's replacement and is making his debut this weekend, racing alongside Pascal Wehrlein. Ocon is starting P18.
13:11 Hamilton's charge, though, could be undone by Pirelli's tyres. Warm than expected conditions have left all the drivers struggling with tyres that let go too soon.
13:06 Today's 44-lap grand prix promises to be a thriller as Nico Rosberg is starting from pole position, Max Verstappen is second on the grid and arguably F1's fastest driver in the faster car, Lewis Hamilton, is starting from the pit lane.
13:00 Good afternoon and welcome to the Spa-Francorchamps circuit, home of the Belgian GP, birth place of Max Verstappen, and the current location for about 20,000 Dutch fans. All times are local.
15:02 Well done Rosberg, well done Max! Join us on Sunday for the Belgian GP. Cheers.
15:01 It is pole for Rosberg, P2 for Verstappen followed by Raikkonen, Vettel, Ricciardo, Perez, Hulkenberg, Bottas, Button and Massa.
15:00 Ricciardo moves up third place, Button goes eighth, Verstappen stays second, Hulkenberg stays sixth, Rosberg has backed off on his lap, Raikkonen slots into third place, and here comes Vettel. He goes P4.
15:00 The chequered flag is out...
14:58 Bottas goes sixth fastest while Massa is eighth. He is 0.7s behind his team-mate alone. Ricciardo starts his flying lap but struggles through the Turn 1 apex.
14:57 All ten drivers are out on track for the final 3 minutes of Q3.
14:54 No time yet from Raikkonen as he ventured out only to return to the pits. Replays show the Ferrari driver had an off, chewing up gravel before heading back into the pits.
14:53 Vettel now goes fastest with a 1:47.2 but is beaten by Verstappen. A 1:46.9 for the Red Bull driver. All change again as Rosberg does a 1:46.744 to take P1.
14:52 Perez and Hulkenberg both edge ahead with a 1:47.4 for the Mexican driver.
14:51 Bottas does a 1:47.6 to get the ball rolling.
14:49 Only Massa and Button have yet to leave the pits as the pole position shoot-out gets underway.
14:47 All the drivers will use the supersofts this session, no one wants to take the gamble of the softs.
14:46 We are almost ready for the start of Q3. Can anyone stop Rosberg taking pole? Let's find out.
14:41 Grosjean goes 11th, Gutierrez 12th, Wehrlein 14th and we are still waiting for Sainz. The Toro Rosso driver is P15.
14:40 Button is out now on a hot lap and he goes 10th as the chequered flag it out.
14:39 Dropzone: Button, Magnussen, Grosjean, Palmer, Wehrlein and Sainz.
14:36 Massa slots into sixth place and Bottas seventh.
14:35 Massa and Bottas are out on track now. The Williams pairing and Wehrlein are the only drivers yet to set times.
14:34 Verstappen slots into second place on the supersofts, 0.164s down on Rosberg's best.
14:32 Raikkonen goes fourth on the soft tyres, Vettel fifth and Ricciardo sixth.
14:31 Times coming through with Perez second, Hulkenberg takes it off him on the supersofts.
14:30 A 1:46.999 for Rosberg as the fastest time!
14:28 Interesting tyre choices as Rosberg, Raikkonen and Ricciardo have all ventured out on the soft tyres. Remember the drivers start the grand prix on the tyres that they used for their best time in Q2. Vettel is also on the soft tyres, Verstappen the supersofts.
14:28 The Manor driver is back in the pits.
14:26 A bit of a problem for Wehrlein has he reports "I think my tyre is loose".
14:25 Green light, go! Track temperature is now 39'C.
14:23 Ready for Q2? Well Alonso isn't as he leaves the McLaren garage to head to the media bullpen. Hamilton has already had a chat with the press as his afternoon also ended early.
14:20 So out are: Nasr, Ocon, Kvyat, Ericsson, Hamilton and Alonso.
14:19 Palmer moves up to P11, Magnussen takes 11th off him, Ericsson is 15th, Ocon goes up to 14th, Wehrlein goes P8, Kvyat is 17th, Button is 11th and Sainz 15th. Massa goes fastest of all.
14:18 The chequered flag is out but anyone on a hot lap can complete it.
14:16 Dropzone: 17 Ericsson, 18 Ocon, 19 Hamilton, 20 Magnussen, 21 Nasr, 22 Alonso
14:15 Interesting times over at Red Bull as Verstappen and Ricciardo have matched times to the nth degree. A 1:48.407 for both drivers.
14:14 Alonso never made it through his lap as he has stopped on the side of the track with marshals pushing his car out of the way. He has a 35-place grid penalty so this won't affect his grid slot.
14:13 Ricciardo and Alonso are now out on track as they look to set times.
14:12 Kevin Magnussen is the latest to lose his time for track limit infringement.
14:11 The timesheets: Vettel, Raikkonen, Rosberg, Hulkenberg, Perez, Verstappen, Werhlein, Massa, Button and Gutierrez.
14:10 Here comes Raikkonen on the supers and it is a 1:47.912. Puts him P1. Hamilton has done a lap on the supers but it was a slow one. And now a new P1, this time it is Vettel with a 1:47.802.
14:09 Track limits are coming into play with Nasr's time deleted for track limits at Turn 4.
14:07 Rosberg on the soft tyres hits the front with a 1:48.019. He should be comfortably into Q2.
14:06 Wehrlein is on a hot lap and it is up on Gutierrez through the second sector. He crosses the line with a 1:48.9. Good lap.
14:05 More drivers heading out including Rosberg and Hamilton.
14:04 First time for Grosjean, a 1:49.5. Gutierrez pips him by 0.2s.
14:01 Romain Grosjean heads out followed by Gutierrez and Wehrlein. Ocon joins them.
14:00 Qualifying for the Belgian GP is underway.
13:57 Track temperature is up to 41'C as the drivers gear up for qualifying.
13:50 News in: Esteban Gutierrez has been hit with a five-place grid penalty for blocking Pascal Wehrlein in final practice.
13:44 Today's outing marks Esteban Ocon's first qualifying as a F1 driver. He will be determined to get as close to - and perhaps even beat - Pascal Wehrlein.
13:41 Max Verstappen was quickest in FP2 while Kimi Raikkonen came to the fore in this morning's final practice. He beat Daniel Ricciardo, Sebastian Vettel, Valtteri Bottas, Hamilton and Nico Hulkenberg. Rosberg was only P7 on his supersoft tyre run.
13:35 Although Mercedes would normally be the favourite for the 1-2, Lewis Hamilton's 55-place grid penalty means he will do "minimal" running in qualifying while Nico Rosberg hasn't exactly had it his own way.
13:30 Welcome back to Spa-Francorchamps for qualifying for the Belgian GP. All times are local.
12:03 That is it for now. Join us in two hours for qualifying. Cheers.
12:02 So P1 for Raikkonen, second for Raikkonen and third for Vettel. Hamilton is fifth and Rosberg seventh.
12:01 Late run from Hamilton could change it all. He is on the supersofts but makes a mistake in the final corner. He finishes P5, seven-tenths down on Raikkonen.
12:00 The chequered flag is out.
11:59 Palmer is off the track and almost into the barriers. That was a close call. Nasr reports "so much traffic" as he ducks and dives around the other drivers.
11:57 But here comes Rosberg in the W07 and he is on a new set of supersofts. It is a 1:48.7. That leaves the Mercedes driver down in sixth place.
11:55 Bottas goes fourth and Hulkenberg fifth.
11:54 Vettel responds with a 1:48.29, which puts him P3.
11:53 A personal best in the first sector as he gets a slipstream from a Renault, purple in the second sector and he does a 1:47.974 to go fastest of all.
11:52 Four-time Belgian GP winner Raikkonen begins his flying lap...
11:50 Massa has improved to fourth place on his supersoft tyre run.
11:49 Both Ferraris are out on a new set of supersofts.
11:46 Hamilton is having issues with lock ups, two in two laps. Mercedes tell him to move his brake balance rearwards to help him.
11:42 The earlier incident between Vettel and Magnussen, which was a very very near-miss, will be investigated by the stewards.
11:38 A big moment for Grosjean as the back end of his Haas steps out.
11:36 No times yet from Ericsson or Verstappen but given that both drivers' cars are in pieces, it is doubtful we'll get anything in the next 24 minutes.
11:35 Hamilton, who is focusing on race pace, is down in 20th place some 6.8s off the pace. He is lapping on the soft tyres.
11:31 Ericsson is back in the pits with Sauber reporting "minor issues with the car."
11:30 Vettel labels Magnussen an "idiot, what an idiot" after a traffic moment with the Renault driver. He adds: "Free practice, they call it free practice. Who gives a s**t."
11:27 Ferrari have taken over at the front. A 1:48.4 for Raikkonen and a 1:48.5 for Vettel. Both set their tyres on the supersofts. And Rosberg is only 0.474s down with his time having been set on the soft tyres.
11:25 Don't expect any fliers from Hamilton this session. Mercedes have Tweeted: "No need for blistering times today @LewisHamilton - when you're starting from the back, it's all about race pace."
11:22 Bottas up to second as Hamilton heads out on a set of soft tyres.
11:19 Horner added that it is uncertain whether Max will run again this session. But rather have it now than later.
11:18 Friday's pace-setter Verstappen is having his car pulled apart. An "issue with the sensor in the gearbox" is team boss Christian Horner's explanation.
11:17 Rosberg is still holding down P1, 0.574s up on Hulkenberg and 0.586s ahead of Perez.
11:15 Not good news for Marcus Ericsson as the Sauber driver reports "no power." Ericsson is facing a 10-place grid penalty this weekend.
11:12 A slow lap from Max Verstappen in his flo-vis painted RB12.
11:10 Race Control report that the Gutierrez, Wehrlein incident will be investigated.
11:09 P1 for Rosberg and issues for Vettel. He is out of his car, the engine cover is off and there are a lot of mechanics surrounding it.
11:07 Wehrlein says that "should get a penalty." Manor let him know they'll be chatting to Charlie Whiting.
11:06 Wehrlein and Gutierrez have a moment as the Manor driver is on a flier through Eau Rouge and Gutierrez does not get out of the way, forcing Wehrlein onto the grass. Oh Esteban. Again!
11:05 Daniel Ricciardo and Hamilton are the next out of the pits as Grosjean does a 1:49.6.
11:04 Bottas in, Felipe Massa out. Nope that is not the Williams line-up for next season. That's just what is happening at the circuit at this moment.
11:03 Nico Rosberg joins the action as the Ferraris return to the pits having covered their installation laps.
11:02 More drivers head out, including Valtteri Bottas, Jenson Button, Romain Grosjean, Ocon, Wehrlein and Fernando Alonso.
11:01 Esteban Gutierrez is the first driver to head out onto the circuit, followed by the Ferraris of Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen.
11:00 Green light and FP3 is underway.
10:55 It is another beautiful day at Spa. Blue skies overhead, air temperature is 29'C and the track temperature is a degree warmer.
10:47 Tyres and strategy are weighing heavy on the teams this weekend as unexpectedly warm conditions mean the supersofts - of which the majority of the teams chose the bulk of their sets - are not holding up well.
10:41 The other big news is the arrival of Esteban Ocon on the grid. He is the newest Manor signing and showed decent pace on Friday. He was up on Pascal Wehrlein in FP1 but did fall behind his team-mate in the afternoon.
10:36 If you have only just realised that the summer break is over then you may have missed the news that Lewis Hamilton has a 30-place grid penalty, Fernando Alonso a 35-place penalty and Marcus Ericsson a 10-place penalty. All three are engine related.
10:30 Welcome back to the Spa-Francorchamps circuit for the third and final practice session for the Belgian GP. All times are local.
15:31 So that is it for today. Join us on Saturday for FP3 and qualifying for the Belgian GP. Cheers.
15:30 FP2 ends with a 1-2 for Red Bull with Verstappen ahead of Ricciardo and no supersoft time from Rosberg or Hamilton.
15:26 Wehrlein is P11 as the clock counts down on FP2. If they can translate this pace into qualifying, Wehrlein will be wanting a Q3 berth on Saturday.
15:22 Not a great session from Williams with Bottas P16 and Massa 17th.
15:19 As things stand it is Verstappen ahead of Ricciardo by 0.2s. Hulkenberg is third ahead of Vettel, Perez and Rosberg. Still no supersoft run from Mercedes.
15:16 Button has an issue with "traction out of Turn 1", apparently is it "terrible."
15:13 12 laps on his supersofts, Vettel informs Ferrari he intends boxing as the tyres have completely gone away.
15:10 Rosberg pits and swaps to mediums. Are we going to see FP2 end without a supersoft run from Mercedes?
15:09 Bottas is out on track on the supersofts as Williams have resolved whatever was wrong with the car. He is P16.
15:05 Hamilton heads out on a brand new set of soft tyres.
15:04 Hamilton finally pits after 14 laps on the mediums, reporting "no more grip left in these tyres."
15:03 Still no sign of Bottas, who covered just four laps before he ran into car trouble.
15:00 A 1:55.6 is Hamilton's lap time on lap 13 of his medium tyre run.
14:59 Raikkonen has left the pits on his used supersoft tyres. They are on lap 8. Hulkenberg has just completed a nine-lap run on his.
14:54 Still waiting for a supersoft run from either Mercedes driver. Hamilton is starting lap 11 on his mediums and Rosberg is on lap 9 on his softs.
14:49 Verstappen takes over at the front with a 1:48.085!
14:47 Alonso lines up behind Wehrlein on his supersoft run.
14:45 P1 for Ricciardo with a 1:48.341.
14:44 Wehrlein is out on the supersofts. Should be interesting to see where he lines up compared to Ocon. He does a 1:49.7 and goes P8. Ocon's was a 1:50.6.
14:40 Hamilton reports: "There's a big vibration already in these tyres." He is only on his second lap with the mediums.
14:38 Hamilton is out lapping on the medium tyres.
14:37 Vettel's supersoft run puts him up into second place, 0.366s short of Hulkenberg's best.
14:35 Raikkonen has called it quits on his supersoft run, saying he "can't stay on the circuit." And all that because he fluffed his first flying lap on the red-marked tyres.
14:34 Hulkenberg is on a flier and does a 1:48.6 to edge his team-mate by 0.4s.
14:32 Perez goes fastest on the supersoft tyres, Rosberg slots into third on the softs.
14:31 Verstappen goes second quickest behind his team-mate, 0.3s off the pace.
14:29 Ricciardo goes P1 with a 1:49.1. Raikkonen has backed out of his lap.
14:28 Raikkonen is out on a new set of supersofts while Ricciardo is using new softs.
14:27 It is getting rather busy out there with 14 drivers out on track including Rosberg on a new set of soft tyres.
14:24 Ocon on the supersofts has jumped up to ninth place, 0.877s off Hamilton's soft tyre pace.
14:21 A lesson on how to reset his engine and Palmer is back up and running.
14:18 Palmer is pulling over onto the side of the track having reported a "vibration" when he is over "60 percent throttle." That's followed up by "I lost power."
14:17 Hamilton on the soft tyres is purple, purple, and green. It is a 1:49.7 for the Mercedes driver.
14:16 Alonso, out on the prototype tyres, is putting in what looks like a good lap but it is well down on the frontrunners. He goes 16th!
14:15 Vettel reports "traffic again at the beginning" as he goes P8.
14:14 Rosberg's first lap on the mediums puts him sixth, 0.7s down on Raikkonen.
14:13 Ricciardo slots into second place, 0.3s behind Raikkonen.
14:11 Vettel is playing in the traffic, and not having fun doing it. He gives Sainz room to go ahead but catches the Toro Rosso by the first corner and lets the Spaniard know he's not impressed.
14:10 Carlos Sainz has asked Toro Rosso to "keep an eye on brake vibration, it is pretty high."
14:08 A 1:49.9 for Raikkonen who is out on the soft tyres.
14:07 Times on the board with Bottas P1 with a 1:50.4. Massa is second, 0.9s down.
14:06 Now Grosjean adds: "Rear end is a disaster, but front end isn't any better. Just no grip." So that's a normal Friday complaining session for the Haas driver.
14:05 Grosjean reports that he has the "water temperature alarm" going off.
14:03 Alonso, with a new engine fitted and a pending 35-place grid penalty, heads out in his McLaren-Honda and pits after his installation lap.
14:01 A combination of mediums and softs as Romain Grosjean leads out Jolyon Palmer, Pascal Wehrlein, Bottas and Kevin Magnussen.
14:00 The sun is out, the track temperature is up to 39'C, and FP2 is underway.
13:56 If you have not heard the big news yet; Hamilton is facing a definite 15-place grid penalty for a new turbocharge and MGU-K. There is speculation that Mercedes may give him another new engine after FP2 and another after FP3 to stock up on engines for the remainder of this season. That would mean a likely pit lane start.
13:48 Fernando Alonso will be hoping for a better FP2. He managed just 3 laps this morning before a water leak sidelined the Spaniard and his updated Honda engine. His team-mate Jenson Button was 18th fastest.
13:41 One of the stars of the session was new Manor driver Esteban Ocon. He finished P16 and was a full second quicker than Pascal Wehrlein.
13:39 Nico Rosberg was quickest in FP1, finishing 0.730s up on Lewis Hamilton while Kimi Raikkonen was a further 0.069s down. Sergio Perez was fourth ahead of Sebastian Vettel, Nico Hulkenberg, Daniel Ricciardo and Valtteri Bottas.
13:30 Welcome back to the Spa-Francorchamps circuit for the second of Friday's practice sessions. All times are local.
11:32 Join us again in two hours for the build-up to FP2. Cheers.
11:31 The session ends with a P1 for Rosberg, who was 0.730s up on Hamilton, and 0.799s faster than Raikkonen.
11:30 The chequered flag is out and FP1 is over.
11:29 Ocon is up to 16th place in the Manor! He is 3.4s off the pace. Wehrlein is P19 ahead of the Renault drivers.
11:26 Ricciardo, Verstappen and Bottas have just headed back out to get in a final few laps before the 90 minutes are up.
11:23 Gutierrez has taken P10 off Grosjean. Doesn't he wish today was Sunday!
11:20 Gutierrez is the latest to improve as he goes 11th quickest. His team-mate Grosjean is P10 so a good showing from Haas.
11:16 An improvement from Ericsson as he moves up to P12 on the soft tyres. Lock up for Massa at Le Source.
11:12 Hamilton returns to the pits after a run of nine laps on the soft tyres but heads straight back out on a new set of softs.
11:11 Palmer is out of the car as Renault believe there is a leak somewhere, they just don't quite know where.
11:09 Perez has again split the Ferrari drivers as he does a 1:49.2 to go fifth fastest.
11:08 Rosberg heads back out onto the track with the medium tyres on his W07.
11:05 Palmer is slowly touring the circuit after reporting that something felt wrong when he hit the brakes.
11:01 Hulkenberg reports that he is getting pressure warnings. Looks like a sensor issue as Force India say they will "sort it out over the break."
11:00 Gutierrez is reporting brake issues and doesn't understand what exactly is going on.
10:59 Sauber are running a new shorter nose and front wing this weekend and so far Marcus Ericsson says it is "good".
10:56 McLaren have announced that Alonso's FP1 is over. "Fernando's session is done. After an inspection the decision has been taken to change his power unit," the team tweeted.
10:55 Rosberg's 1:48.3 still stands as the time to beat.
10:53 Grosjean is not a happy chap. "I have the same problem, I don't know how to drive around this tyre pressure," he tells his team.
10:52 Raikkonen moves up to third place on the soft tyres. He is 0.799s down.
10:50 Bad news for Alonso. He has yet to put in a timed lap and the reason is that his upgraded Honda power unit has a water leak.
10:49 Rosberg and Hamilton are both out on track, putting in the laps on the supersoft and soft laps respectively.
10:46 Verstappen reports an issue with his delta time, saying it is "seven seconds" out.
10:45 An improvement from Verstappen moves him up to sixth place, splitting the Ferraris.
10:41 Ocon returned to the pits with a bit of drama as he hit a cone rather than a photographer.
10:38 Ocon is P19, 5.5s off the pace. Wehrlein is P21, 5.7s down. Alonso has yet to set a time.
10:35 Rosberg heads back into the pits.
10:34 Hulkenberg joins his team-mate at the front as he slots into fourth place.
10:33 Perez has moved up to third for Force India. He is running the soft tyres and is 1.8s off the pace.
10:31 Interesting to see Rosberg's times given that Halo is still attached to his car.
10:28 Hamilton slots into second place behind his team-mate. The Brit is 0.730s down.
10:24 Mercedes have just confirmed a 15-place penalty for Hamilton as they've replaced both elements. He heads out on the supersoft tyres.
10:22 Ferrari line up behind Rosberg with Raikkonen second and Vettel third. Raikkonen is a four-time Belgian GP winner. He is 1.2s off the Mercedes driver's pace.
10:19 Rosberg heads back into the pits. Interesting to note that Rosberg ran a different rear wing, one with a swooping downward centre, perhaps to counteract the Halo.
10:17 Rosberg, who is still running the Halo, goes quickest on a 1:49.4.
10:16 A 1:51.4 for Perez to get the ball rolling.
10:15 Rosberg, Hulkenberg and Perez are all running Pirelli's prototype tyres that all the teams are testing today. They have two sets per driver of the tyres, which Pirelli hope will be more durable against kerbs and contact.
10:14 Track action heats up as Ricciardo, Raikkonen, Verstappen, Palmer and Magnussen join the on-track action.
10:12 Wehrlein, Ocon, Rosberg, Hulkenberg and Sergio Perez all head out as F1 gets down to business.
10:09 Silence falls as the Dutchman returns to the pits. His team-mate Ricciardo has had the Halo removed from his car.
10:06 And with that Max heads out in his RB12.
10:06 The only driver yet to venture out is Verstappen.
10:04 Ocon has been out and pitted already while Hamilton, Felipe Massa are out there at the moment. Palmer, Nasr and Bottas are all putting in a second lap.
10:03 Ricciardo is back in the pits after his installation lap with Halo.
10:02 Hulkenberg heads out with Halo which Ricciardo and Sainz are also running.
10:01 Jolyon Palmer leads out Pascal Wehrlein, Kevin Magnussen, Felipe Nasr, Daniel Ricciardo, Kimi Raikkonen, Sebastian Vettel, Sainz, Valtteri Bottas and Daniil Kvyat.
10:00 Summer break over, FP1 on!
09:57 Four drivers: Carlos Sainz, Rosberg, Nico Hulkenberg and one of the Red Bull drivers are expected to run Halo this morning.
09:52 A quick look at the championship: Hamilton is leading by 19 points over Nico Rosberg while Daniel Ricciardo is a further 65 points off the pace.
09:44 With a Belgium mother, this is basically Verstappen's home race with organisers estimating that 20,000 Dutch fans will be present this weekend to cheer on the Red Bull driver. Max Mania has gripped Formula 1!
09:41 Over, or should I say down, at Manor, Ocon will be making his grand prix debut. The Mercedes protege, who was a Renault test driver, will now race for Manor after Haryanto was dropped for failing to fulfill his end of his deal, IE to pay for his seat. Great opportunity for Ocon, who doubles F1's tally of teenage drivers. The other being Max Verstappen.
09:36 Mercedes confirmed Hamilton's engine penalties on Thursday, adding that it is "safe to assume he will start from the back of the field or very close but we cannot be more precise at this stage." The Brit says he will "do everything I can to minimise the impact I have."
09:32 Two pieces of big news for this weekend's grand prix: 1) Lewis Hamilton has grid penalties and 2) Esteban Ocon is replacing Rio Haryanto at Manor.
09:30 Formula 1 returns from the three-week summer break with the Belgian Grand Prix, arguably one of the most loved races on the calendar. This is Friday's first practice and all times are local.
