Hamilton slammed as 'pathetic'

McLaren stepped in to prevent Lewis Hamilton from answering a reporter's question about the Adrian Sutil affair.

At the recent launch of the MP4-27 car, a reporter asked Hamilton about his former friend Sutil's accusation he is a "coward" for not appearing as a witness at the recent assault trial in Munich.

A spokesman intervened: "We've been told that Lewis shouldn't really go there because it (the conviction) might go under appeal."

Hamilton smiled: "I'll listen to him."

Hamilton's former F3 teammate did indeed file an appeal, but not before Sutil's father Jorge described Hamilton as "pathetic" in the German press.

Asked about the latest insult from the Sutil camp, Hamilton was once again prevented from answering in the Jerez paddock by a McLaren media minder.

"That question is not permitted. We say that Hamilton should have the courage to speak for himself." the spokesman is quoted as saying by Auto Motor und Sport.

In other F1 news, former Benetton driver JJ Lehto's attempt to appeal his prison sentence for manslaughter got off to a dismal start, the Swiss newspaper Blick reports.

Finn Lehto's lawyer reportedly appeared in court to file the appeal but was "immediately arrested himself, apparently because of money laundering".

Hamilton is pathetic, playing the race card, blaming every thing and all in sight for his crappy performance. Our car was faster than R/B/R according to Geoff McGrath MD Tech services McLaren and Vettel still beat us.

Sorry fools, down votes are not changing the facts. BTW his WDC was pure luck. Glock let him pass last corner last race, Brazil. Ferrari screwed up Massas fuel line in the pits EU, Briatore/Alonso fraud in Singapore, Massa was set to win that race.

Cant believe u still believe that! for the umpteenth time, Glock was behind Hamilton before the rain started and decided to gamble to get a better position by staying on slicks in the rain, whereas everyone in front of him pitted for intermediate tyres...How was this first action helpful to Hamilton? furthermore, he became slower due to rain and being on the wrong tyres, that is why he was caught and passed by both Vettel and Hamilton, both on rain friendly tyres!!!! And furthermore, both Hamilton and Massa were victims of misfortune that year, u will have to count all the other incidents, not just the Ferrari pit stop bungle...get a sporting life bru!!!

Plus, the man was winning races that year you knob! You can't put his championship win down to "pure luck", that's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard! Unless you actually know anything about the sport and how closely contested it can be (which, I'm guessing you don't have a clue) then James I suggest you STFU.

Pathetic is defnitely the right word to describe this poephol, he should take his cue from former mclaren f*ckup, Montoya, and bugger off to NASCAR

hate all you want... he is always going to be all in yr face in F1....i'd advise YOU go watch NASCAR if you cant stand Hamilton. and by the way....i too think everybody is winning by luck in F1. If it was pure talent I too would be racing in F1! thats what i think of the hamilton hater's reasoning!

According to a study by Cornell U, I think Prof Dunning, some people are just too stupid to recognise the fact that they are stupid. Google it.

Gentleman, gentleman....please calm down. Lets give credit where credit is due. This young man is an amazing driver and racer and so are all the other drivers of F1. If he wasn't as good as he is made out to be I doubt he would still be 2nd on the Drivers standing even though he won so long ago. He deserved that win and YES I saw the race and was biting my nails till he crossed the finish line. So lets see what happens this season...
