F1 fans: Schumi's not missed

BERLIN, Germany - Six out of 10 Germans who follow Formula 1 won't miss retired seven-times World champion Michael Schumacher in the 2013 season, according to a survey by Deutsche Presse-Agentur.

The survey, carried out by online market research agency YouGov, showed 60% as saying Schumacher, who retired at the end of 2012, won't be missed in 2013. Only 28% of those polled thought Schumacher's absence would be a loss for the sport.

1000 POLLED

Schumacher initially retired at the end of 2006 from Ferrari but returned in 2010 to drive for Mercedes. However his last three years in F1 produced just a one podium finish.

Compatriot Sebastian Vettel has meanwhile won the F1 Drivers' title for Red Bull for the past three seasons.

1000 thousand people took part in the online survey from March 6-8 2013.
