Alonso: 'I'm in the perfect team'

PARIS, France - Former double World champion Fernando Alonso believes Ferrari will break Red Bull's Formula 1 title stranglehold "sooner rather than later".

Sebastian Vettel has taken Red Bull to consecutive World championships but Spanish driver Alonso came close in 2010 when only a strategic error in the Abu Dhabi finale allowed his German rival to triumph.

Alonso said: "I know I could have more championships but you can't move forward by looking back - you need to look at the future and the present. I'm totally confident that this championship will come sooner rather than later, because I'm in the perfect team to do that."

Alonso won only one race in 2011 - Silverstone - but he said: "I have more motivation than ever so it only needs time but not, I hope, many more years because I'm 30 and I don't know how many years I will be here.

"I'm at the peak of my career, and I'm in the best team. I don't have any doubts that championships will arrive."

Alonso also told autosport.com: "Now, I am a much more complete driver. Maybe in a single lap or in a race situation it hasn't changed too much but in overtaking manoeuvres, at the start, the pit stop approach, or in mental preparation to the race, I think in 2005 and '06 I was much weaker than now."

Massa is still beter than you, i wanna see what you can do with Massa's sabotaged one seater!

Oh crap! Even fellow F1 drivers voted Alonso the best driver currently.

i hear what you are saying... just a quick question: do you think Alonsos car is better than Massa's? and be honest, nothing to gain or loose!

Hamilton made Alonso look ordinary and more like a babbling baby, Button on the other hand showed Hamilton up. Massa Lin my view has slipped backwards badly and may be as a consequence of his accident!

Alonso is in the best team, it is just the edges that neads pollish but he must just remember that THE LEGEND is still there and next year will show the difference between "the Edge Drivers" and the very good drivers, if you know what I mean?
