With more than 7 000 spectators in attendance, 55 drivers from across the country took to the 27 bends on the mountain pass desperately trying to beat the clock - and the other drivers.
In Saturday's Road and Rally category, Allen Irwin blasted his way to victory in his M3-powered BMW 325iS.
Bessie Bester and Gary Mahnke took second and third place respectively.
Competing in the Sports and Exotic category, Jade Gutzeit achieved a record-breaking time of 2:24.97 in his 790-kW turbocharged Top Secret Nissan Skyline GT-R34. His car was de-tuned to 597 kW for the event to make it more manageable up the mountain!
Dad Desmond was relegated to second place in his Chevrolet Lumina SS Ute packing a Dezzi supercharged 5.7-litre V8.
"Racing cars up a mountain pass at full speed is all about passion, clocking faster times and breaking personal records," said Ian Wilder, KOTM organiser.
"We apply these same principals to the organising of King of the Mountain by committing to, year-on-year, throw in more passion, involve more people and beat our own personal records."
