'Flight Night' set for SA Bike Festival at Kyalami

Midrand - Monster Energy will detonate into South Africa Bike Festival 2017 with a spectacle of death defying tricks, jumps & stunts from three of the very best Pilot riders with three epic night-time performances taking place on the Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit starting grid!

As the sun goes down by 6pm each evening, the circuit will transform into a mash up of Freestyle Motocross (FMX), fiery pyrotechnics, electrifying lighting, blinding smoke machines, mega Monster Trucks, bewildering trial-biking, fascinating fire throwing plus booming music & a crowd pleasuring MC in a acrobatic phenomenon aptly named "Flight Night"!

As the light disappears each evening, the lethal ramps will be pulled strategically into place by stunt experts, lead by international FMX daredevil legend, Jimmy Hill (Yamaha) hailing all the way from the US, followed closely by Monster’s “local elite”, Alastair Sayer (Yamaha) and Jungle Rush’s Dallan Goldman (Yamaha).

This awesome-trio hail from the global stage training, performing and competing with the greats from Masters of Dirt, X-Games, Nitro Games, & more.  Together, they will create the most sensational FMX demonstration Gauteng has ever seen! And for those “in the know” and clued up on their FMX Trickipedia, expect to see Jimmy doing his infamous “Can-Flip” and Alistair the ridiculousness “Double Grab Indy Flip”!

'Flight Night' will be hosted on the mic by another international flavour, “Tricky Nicky” who will entertain, explain & educate us all on what we can expect from all these talented athletes. Yes, Canadian Pro-Freestyle Mountain Biker Nick Clarke, will ensure all of us stay on top of the action!

If this isn’t spoiling the visitors to South Africa Bike Festival enough, 'Flight Night' will also incorporate the funtastic “brother duo”, Brent and Bruce Le Riche who will also be performing on their brand-spanking new rig throughout the day and across the festival weekend.

Back in action for 2017, the Le Riche Brothers return with their extreme motorcycle show including 360-degree bike rollovers and 3.5m high undercut ledges. Brent “One Wheel” and Bruce “One Hip Wonder” have over 15 South African Trial Bike Championships under their belts and are gearing up to show you what they’re made of at the second annual South Africa Bike Festival, powered by Discovery Channel!

Another first for South Africa Bike Festival is the introduction of the Ramp Rodeo BMX & Skate invitational.

Witness South Africa’s top BMX & Skate athletes go head to head in a jam style format competing for hard cash and the chance to take home the “Ramp Champ” & "Best Trick” Titles on a custom mini ramp setup with added features for driving progression & creativity.

This is the first in a three part series where invited riders from across the country compete in a round of Mini Ramp Style Contests! South Africa Bike Festival will be hosting the first round for 2017 with practice rounds taking place on Friday, a qualifiers round on Saturday and finals & best trick contest on Sunday.

Don’t miss this opportunity to see local action sports heroes Malcolm Peters and Khule Ngubane throwing down for the first time at Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit.

In addition to the great line up of top-class two-wheeled motoring action at this year’s South Africa Bike Festival, Monster Energy is upping the ante and bringing with them the Capetonian based tattoo artists from Sin’s of Style who have designed several unique bike inspired flash art tattoos for our visitors to choose from. Pricing tiers are massively discounted for a special festival offer.

And for those who are working or studying during the day, the South Africa Bike Festival team have arranged a Monster Inspired Flight Night Ticket offer which activates at 4pm each day.

“Buy three, get one Free for just R600”. This ticket allows access from 3pm each day and works out to just R150 per person (which is a R50 saving on the Standard online entry price).

This is just a few of the exciting OTT activities and special offers going on at this year’s South Africa Bike Festival taking place from the May 26-28 at Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit.
