Paying tribute the Tricolori way

accreditation
South Africa has the Silver Falcons, Britain the Red Arrows while in Italy the Frecce Tricolori shows off their national pride by blazing through the skies in perfect formation.

This month the Italian aerobatics team is celebrating its 50th anniversary, and to commemorate the event MV Agusta has created 11 special edition F4s. All painted in the livery of the Frecce Tricolori team of course.

The bikes, each paired to one of the display team’s Aermacchi jets, are fashioned in a colour scheme that MV Agusta describes as “the colours of the sky and the Italian flag”.

To add special touch, the bikes have all been furnished with a special silver plaque on the steering head which indicates the number and ID of the jet to which it has been paired.

Delivery of the F4s took place on 11 August at the Frecce Tricolori’s base in Rivolto during a special celebratory air show. South Africa’s Silver Falcons were also present at the show, but didn’t fly.
