JAKARTA, Indonesia - Yamaha Factory Racing team unveiled its 2014 Yamaha YZR-M1 at a meeting in Indonesia January 20 2014.

The two-day visit saw both riders engage in activities for their first official outing of 2014. Two-time MotoGP champion Jorge Lorenzo met local journalists before heading off to play soccer with a team of his fans and members of the Yamaha team.

Lorenzo lost the 2013 championship by four points to , Marc Marquez and Repsol Honda.

'SMART AND ELEGANT'

Lorenzo said: “Everyone recognises us in the street and gives us a lot of love so it's a good place to promote Yamaha. I like the new bike a lot, it's very smart and elegant with more white. It’s not just the colour though; I’m excited to see what’s inside the bike in Sepang!"

2013 was Valentino Rossi's first season back with Yamaha after a disappointing three-year spell with Ducati that brought no results for the Italian. He too will be looking to improve after finishing fourth in the championship 2013.

Rossi said: "The bike is still very much in the Yamaha Factory style and I like it a lot. The expectations for the coming season are very high. My target is to try to do better than last year, be more competitive and fight for the podium.

"I am sure our bike will be very competitive again."
