LONDON, England - Britain's Cal Crutchlow is expected to announce today (Aug 2) that he will join the factory Ducati team in 2014 on a two-year deal.
He will replace 2006 MotoGP World champion American Nicky Hayden who said in July (2013) he would be leaving the team.
Crutchlow has had four podiums so far in 2013 for the non-works Tech3 Yamaha team and is fifth in the World championship, 47 points behind leader Marc Marquez of Spain.
BACK WITH DOVIZIOSO
The Briton made his MotoGP debut with Tech3 Yamaha in 2011 and won the Rookie of the Year title. His first podium visit was after the 2012 Czech GP.
The move to Ducati means Crutchlow will rejoin former Tech3 team mate Andrea Dovizioso.
