CAPE TOWN -  In 2012 Honda announced the expansion of its state-of-the-art V4 model line-up by introducing the new Crosstourer, first launched as a concept model in 2010 at the Eicma show.

In 2013,
in a new Special Edition version of its V4 Adventure Sports Tourer is launched in South Africa. The Crosstourer development team aimed at creating a motorcycle that was fit for all purposes. The Crosstourer combines sports touring features, such as the powerful V4 engine configuration also found in the VFR1200F, with features found on off-road motorcycles such as long travel suspension and an upright riding position for reassuring handling and grip.


The 1237cm3 V4 engine, installed for the first time in a Honda adventure sports touring motorcycle, has been optimised for stronger low and medium rpm drive.

The engine is mated to a dual clutch transmission and features three riding modes. Using two electronically controlled clutches, the system offers the choice of manual gear shifting and two fully automatic modes, one for general use (D-mode) and another for high performance riding (S-mode).

The model sports' Honda’s Traction Control System (TCS) and ABS.

The model has LED indicators, a first for Honda on its large capacity motorcycles.


The Crosstourer has off-road inspired knuckle guards to provide weather protection for the rider’s hands. The adjustable windscreen has been shaped using computational fluid dynamics analysis for an idealised.

The Crosstourer rides on 110/80-R19 tyres at the front and 150/70-R17 at the rear.

The versatility of the Crosstourer can be further enhanced with a range of Honda Genuine Accessories, designed to complement its styling and performance. These include like 38-litre expandable top box, touring screen and heated grips.
