The model's larger sibling, the Tourneo Custom, is the only vehicle in its class to earn five stars.
‘LIVE LIFE TO THE FULL’
Ford Europe’s Tourneo Connect chief programme engineer, Stephen Lesh, said: “The Tourneo Connect gives active families the space and versatility they need to live life to the full. This significant endorsement from Euro NCAP shows that we know how important safety is for our customers, too.”
The Tourneo Connect is equipped with dual-front and side airbags as well as curtain airbags in the front and rear. Its Isofix mounting points scored 100% in safety by Euro NCAP “for the ease of installing a child safety seat”.
The vehicle is equipped with active city stop (designed to avoid low speed collisions with stationary or slower moving traffic ahead) and Ford’s Sync with emergency assistance.
Euro NCAP secretary general, Michiel van Ratingen, said: “The comprehensive package which includes a driver-set speed assistance system, standard seatbelt reminders on the front seats and the low-speed autonomous braking system active city stop, makes the Tourneo Connect an attractive offering for safety-minded drivers.”
