The Ultima of S. Kidgell and J .Evans was fastest on aggregate on the the 2004 Fireball Run.
The new dates - November 14 to 20 - follow requests from competitors, which this year include both fast cars and motorcycle contestants.
Reasons given by organiser Dave Morgan are, firstly, that the weather along the coast is generally better in November, and secondly, the annual Porsche Run in Cape Town is happening a week after the original October date, and Porsche owners say they can't take two consecutive weeks away from work.
The new dates are as follows:
- Johannesburg Monday November 14.
- Durban Tuesday November 15.
- Rest day Wednesday November 16 (travelling through the old Transkei to East London).
- East London Thursday November 17.
- Port Elizabeth Friday November 18.
- George Saturday November 19.
- Cape Town Sunday November 20.
