The price tag for the smart - at the current exchange rate - will be a hefty R130 000. The smart - which is spelled lower case - is available as a coupe and cabriolet. A roadster version is also going on sale in Europe but there are no plans yet to introduce it locally.
The body panels of the smart are available in bright colours and are easily interchangeable. A glass sunroof is also available as an option for the City-Coupe.
The cabrio version has an innovative soft top. It is electrically-operated and can be opened to any desired position via soft-touch controls.
