This announcement was made at the Auto Africa Expo. At the same time premium products will be launched into South Africa next year March and April.

Renault France will pay a R100 million for its share in the local company and this will be in the form of share and capital investments. This will be matched with a similar investment from Imperial.

Among the new models to reach South Africa is the new Megane exhibited at Auto Africa for the first time outside France.

An exciting Renault Laguna 1.9CDi turbo-diesel will also go on sale in South Africa. This will be Renault's first diesel for local distribution.

Topping off the new Renault models for South Africa is the R400 000 + super-luxury Vel Satis 3.5-litre V6.
