Remould tyres now in SA

2003-08-19 10:51

Tyrepro is the first company to market 4x4 remoulded tyres - available in sizes 215 x 15, 245/75 x 15 and 750 R16 - to South African enthusiasts.

"With the rapid growth in the local 4x4 market, we identified an opportunity to provide this growing sector with an affordable alternative without compromising on quality", comments Tyrepro owner and managing director, Matie Jacobs.

Tyrepro, with 30 years experience in the industry, is South Africa?s leading manufacturer of remoulded tyres for passenger, light commercial and 4x4s.

The remoulded tyres are easy to balance and ensure excellent water displacement.

Matie highlights the importance of proper tyre maintenance for maximum safety and longer life.

Basic rules

"There are a few basic rules which, if adhered to, will ensure safe motoring and extend tyre life. Under- and over-inflation remain one of the most neglected areas, and according to the Tyre Maintenance Council, a mere 10% under-inflation can reduce tread life by between 9% and 16%.

"Motorists should be aware of the correct tyre pressure for their vehicles and should check their tyre pressure each time they fill up. Unbalanced wheels and misalignment are also common causes for irregular and rapid tyre wear. It is cheaper to have the alignment checked than replacing tyres within only a few thousand kilometres".

A final reminder from Matie to off-road enthusiasts:

"After every off-road experience the outside of tyres should be checked for chips, tears and other damage which may lead to a blow-out during high speed freeway travel."

Matie says only the best and most modern materials, equipment and processes are used in Tyrepro retreads.

"All our tyres are remoulded from only the best raw rubber and we subject each and every tyre to numerous quality checks prior to the remoulding process. Numerous casing inspections are also conducted to ensure that the ?heart? of the tyre is virtually as good as new to match the quality of the new tread that we remould into the new special compound rubber".

Tyrepro uses A-grade casings imported from Japan, Australia and the Netherlands as well as quality casings sourced from reputable local tyre dealers. The company offers a guarantee on tubeless remoulded tyres.

Warehouses in Bloemfontein, Centurion, Cape Town, Durban, Gaborone and Port Elizabeth and a nationwide network of dealers support Tyrepro?s manufacturing facility in Ermelo.
