Officials are speculating that a motorist who had navigated a highway while driving in reverse during morning rush hour traffic, may have had transmission problems.

The Ohio Transportation Department on Tuesday (June 7) released a video showing a SUV going through traffic for little more than 1.6km backward up a ramp to US 33 in Canal Winchester.

The vehicle turned onto another road, crossed an overpass, went through a traffic light and turned into a parking lot.

The SUV did not hit any vehicles. The town is about 24 kilometers southeast of Columbus.

Kudos to the driver who managed not to crash and still tried to obey the rules of the road as best he or she could, despite driving backwards.
