The Chief of Mvezo and Nelson Mandela's grandson, Mandla Mandela, said the doors are open for Springboks to honour Madiba by bringing the Webb Ellis trophy to his birthplace in Mthatha's Mvezo Village.
The Springboks, who returned home on Tuesday morning after winning the Rugby World Cup in Paris on Saturday, are facing growing calls for them to expand their four-province trophy tour and include more provinces and more areas in the Eastern Cape.
Politicians, the business community, and sports administrators in the Eastern Cape have written to SA Rugby asking it to add the Nelson Mandela Bay (NMB) in the Eastern Cape leg of the parade, which ends in East London.
