Porsche Carrera 911, Mercedes-Benz C43 AMG... whether driven on a launch or experienced as a test car, Janine Van der Post picks her top 10 drives of 2018 so far.
Porsche, Bentley, Volkswagen... there has been an onslaught of new models launched locally in 2018.
Wheels24's Janine Van der Post says she has a mixed bag of favourite cars launched and driven so far this year: "I love mommy vans or big SUVs just as much as I love bakkies and fast cars."
"From driving a Porsche 911 T manual, screeching tyres and giggling like a little school girl from the pure bliss of driving a genuine sports car, and pretending to be the Queen of England in a stately Bentley Bentayga... there's been something launched for everyone since the beginning of the year.
"If I had to pick one though, to top the charts, it would be the Nissan Qashqai without a doubt. It's one of the most comfortable and frugal cars I have driven not only this year, but in a very long time. The crossover has had a bit of a transformation and is better than it has ever been, in every aspect."
Here are my top car picks for the year so far:
1. Porsche Carrera 911 T 7-speed manual
2. Nissan Qashqai
3. Mercedes-Benz C43 AMG
4. Peugeot 3008
5. Hyundai H1
6. VW Polo GTI
7. Lexus RX 350 L
8. Ford Focus (arrives in SA in 2019)
9. Volvo XC60
10. BMW M5
