Volkswagen has launched a special edition Amarok, the Ultimate, which, it says, is the first bakkie in the local market with Bi-xenon headlights (with LED daytime running lights) as standard.
The Amarok Ultimate is based on the top-of-the-range bakkie - 2.0 BiTDI 132kW 4Motion Highline with 8-speed auto.
The limited edition bakkie is priced at R600 200.
Style tweaks
The Amarok Ultimate has bi-xenons, LEDs, two twin chromed bars along the radiator grille, silver side-mirrors, darkened tail lights with LED number-plate illumination, polished 19" 'Cantera' alloys, ‘Ultimate’ badging, silver-coloured underbody guard and a styling bar and side-sills in chrome.
Upgraded features
The Amarok Ultimate is equipped with Park Distance Control (with reversing camera), powered and heatable side-mirrors, heatable front seats (in either Vienna or Alcantara leather), RCD 510 Radio/CD system with mobile phone preparation, rain sensor with intermittent wipers, auto diming rear-view mirror and special velour floor mats.
Optional features include the RNS 510 Radio/satnav with six-speakers and electronic interface for external use.
VW aim to sell 30 units a month of the Amarok Ultimate.
