Land Rover completely turned the original concept of the Defender on its head when it unveiled and launched the current (L663) Defender four years ago. Gone is the basic, utilitarian concept, replaced with a luxury SUV loaded with technology and modern features. 

Some die-hard enthusiasts couldn't accept this significant change, but overall, it has been a much-loved addition to the Land Rover family, even though one could say that in terms of product offering, it is close to some of the other products the company offers.
