the best-sellers at some of South Africa's top automakers - namely Toyota and
Ford.
While the Hilux will always be SA's most loved bakkie, the Ford Ranger has been a stalwart of the local bakkie fabric since the 2000s. It has competed directly against the Hilux and Isuzu's D-Max for the longest time.
The next-generation Ranger launched locally in 2022 and was exceptionally well received by consumers, with units selling out like proverbial hotcakes.
