'No real surprise' - Readers respond to Chrysler, Dodge leaving SA

Cape Town - 'A very sad day', 'No surprise', 'The loss of Chrysler and Dodge will have no impact at all'... Wheels24 readers respond to another car brand leaving SA. 

Earlier in October, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) announced that two of its brand staples, Chrysler and Dodge, will no longer be available locally. 

New models for SA

FCA adds however that it's set to launch many new models in SA.

According to the automaker: "FCA will say a fond farewell to two of the mainstay car brands, with the Chrysler and Dodge vehicle ranges no longer being available locally.

"This unfortunate situation has arisen from our principals in the USA no longer building Chrysler or Dodge vehicles in Right Hand Drive configuration."

What about local customers?

FCA said: "We will, however, continue to support and service the existing Chrysler and Dodge vehicles through our franchise dealers."
