Earlier in April 2013, we reported that Wheels24 columnist JOHN LEICESTER believes that female eye candy isn’t necessary in motorsport, or in fact any sport at all, and only serves to entertain crowds.
Leicester wrote: “If they stopped employing invariably young and pretty women to parade around, often in short skirts or less, would motor racing and shows be less interesting?
Of course not.”
Wheels24 reader ELAINE ELS believes that scantily clad show babes are used to seduce men:

“I believe half-naked and sexy women should NOT be used for any advertising, racing, or for that matter for anything!
That is why the divorce rate is so high. They don’t care a damn about the mother and three, four or more children at home. This includes the “artificial dolls” as well as the “unfaithful lustful husbands”.
Even a man with high morals finds it difficult to keep his eyes off these “show girls”.
I am standing strong on this. What do cars have to do with them, or what do they know about cars, bikes, and male stuff?
They are there for two reasons:
1 Seduce the men and make them so blind and excited so they buy the product – even if they don’t need it;
2 Make money (in many different ways). Don’t forget how many marriages go down the tubes with all the promises they make just to find the next rich, stupid guy to seduce.
Stop selling sex in an undercover manner - I have experience of this.”
