Cape Town - GTSpirit reports that the Lamborghini in question, a Murcielago LP 670-4 SuperVeloce, was imported to the country in an illegal manner and authorities decided to destroy the car in public.
Why? So that they can and to prove a point.

Apparently, the owner of the car, known only as Mr Lin, drove the car on the Taiwanese roads in 2013 and the vehicle did not have any license plates. The car was immediately impounded.
Mr Lin, reportedly, tried all he can to prevent his vehicle from being destoryed, but his attempts were all unsuccessful.
Sad day for petrol heads
When the destruction crew got underway to tear this very special car to pieces, there was no hesitation in their actions. Machines that are normally associated with construction work were brought in to demolish the car and not before long everything was done and dusted.
It's difficult to watch and a heap of scrap metal was all that was left over from the wreckage.

Lesson: even super cars need to be registered!
The Murcielago LP 670-4 SuperVeloce had a limited production run of 10 units between 2009 and 2010. It's 6.5-litre V12 engine produces a mammoth 500kW/661Nm, and can do the 0-100km/h sprint in 3.2sec. Top speed is a ridiculous 342km/h!
