Cape Town - The Volkswagen Golf Mk3 VR6 is a car that has been debated about for years following its birth in 1992. Many questioned the automaker's thinking in squeezing a slightly angled six-cylinder, 2.8-litre engine into a shell of a Mk3 Golf.

Iconic sound

While some may debate about the lack of low end torque or that of the vehicle being 'overbuilt', many can agree that the VR6 engine produced one of the most iconic engine sounds in automotive history.
