The new BMW 3 Series remains every inch the driver’s car with its driver-oriented cockpit, rear-wheel drive dynamics and flowing lines running from bonnet to boot.
The latest model holds true to all that has come before, with its chrome and high gloss finishes exuding pure elegance, and its striking features giving it a broad, sporty presence.
Irresistibly sporty
The new, perfectly proportioned BMW 3 Series Saloon is unmistakable, with numerous changes to its iconic design giving it an irresistibly sporty, modern appearance. The characteristic short front overhang, elongated bonnet and long wheelbase are accentuated by a roofline that sweeps towards a smoothly sloping boot. The result is a coupe-like silhouette that gives an impression of movement, even when standing still.
The front of the car features striking optional LED headlights, which, using adaptive technology, automatically adjust illumination to specific driving conditions. This LED package also includes cornering lights, which anticipate bends by turning before the car, allowing optimal safety at crucial moments. Additionally, LED fog lights (halogen standard) sit below the headlights, adding to the car’s agile look and casting a light extremely similar to daylight in murky conditions.
The remodelled front bumper sits in perfect harmony with the intricately designed air inlets in the front apron, emphasising the car’s broad stance. From the rear, the new bumper continues the dynamic shape, while the L-shaped LED lights (as standard) are set wide apart, ensuring a distinctive look even when the sun goes down.
Wider exhausts, new athletic rim designs and a fresh choice of colours (such as Mediterranean Blue, which particularly accentuates the ‘Sport’ model’s key features) round off the powerful look of the world’s most distinctive sports saloon.
Inside the new BMW 3 Series Saloon, the characteristic driver-oriented cockpit gives you more control than ever, placing every innovation easily and intuitively within reach. The driver experience is enhanced by a wealth of high quality materials - seats feature new optional materials and stitching, while the centre console (including the climate control, air vents and radio) is finished with chrome and high gloss black highlights.
The trim is a refined ash black wood (or an optional high gloss black), and an extended trim finisher runs into all doors front and back, just above the subtly extended ambient lighting, which also continues along the centre of the dashboard.
The freestanding Control Display now has a slim, 6.5" high resolution screen with navigation as standard, and boasts a faster, more intuitive user experience. Spaciousness is another key feature, with the flexibility to handle everyday practicalities, and numerous storage compartments to ensure the interior stays uncluttered, however busy your life.
The spacious interior offers a wealth of storage possibilities and ensures every journey is an incredibly comfortable experience. Phone, drinks and bags all have their place, with a centre console and numerous compartments to make clutter disappear. The optional Storage Compartment Package provides even more options, featuring compartments, nets, hooks and straps to hold, hang and secure any item for any kind of journey.
The boot holds 480 litres, with an optional through-loading system using the rear-seat backrests. This allows two passengers to sit comfortably in the back, with long items such as ski and snowboard bags fitting between them.
