JOHANNESBURG - Ford South Africa has held its 2015 #GoFurtherAfrica summit at a glittering event in Sandton on Tuesday (August 11), showing off its new models including the Focus RS and Mustang.

The event coincided with the launch of the new B-Max.

Another big announcement was the winner of the 2015 Ranger Odyssey. The Namibian adventure saw 20 contestants from the African continent take on a grueling 12-day journey. Liane van Dyk grabbed the 2015 title,  winning a Ranger bakkie for one year.

NEW FORDS FOR SA

Ford also unveiled its new Everest, a competitor to Toyota's Fortuner. The next-generation Everest will arrive in Mzansi in September 2015.

Ahead of its local launch, the automaker revealed its new Figo, a budget four-door due in South Africa before the end of 2015.

One of the automaker's biggest reveals is the much anticipated Ranger. The popular bakkie has given the ubiquitous Toyota Hilux a run for its money in local sales. The Ranger will make its local debut in the last quarter of 2015.

Hot-hatch fans will be salivating over the new Ford Focus RS when it arrives in South Africa in the first half of 2016. The RS uses a 257kW 2.3 litre EcoBoost engine that debuted with the new generation Mustang.

The car that drew the most gasps was undoubtedly the  new Mustang. Expect to see the pony car on SA roads before the end of 2015.
