MPH 2009 wrapup

accreditation
The MPH show featuring TopGear and powered by BP Ultimate may have ended on Sunday, February 1, but the show was a sell-out with more than 46 000 tickets sold before the doors had even opened.

Highlights from the show included the London set and the interactive "Cool Wall", which was new to the show, and involved Clarkson and Hammond partaking in some banter with the audience before allowing visitors to vote on whether the variety of super cars on the floor were up to standard.

As in previous shows, it was The Stig’s awe-inspiring driving skills that wowed audiences as he took on "Swampy" and the forces of evil.

Combined with sultry dancers, displays of precision driving skill and pyrotechnics, the event proved to be another unique motoring experience.

The BBC Knowledge MPH, which featured a TopGear banquet dinner and charity auction, was incredibly well supported by celebrities, the media, sponsors and the public.

The charity auction succeeded in raising over R210 000 for Surgikids which will be used by Professor Beale and his team to ensure that children in need receive adequate healthcare.
