Avensis buyers have a choice of four models in two specification grades. The 'Advanced' specification grade offers a high level of comfort, luxury and safety features. Included is a full suite of electronic driver aids including ABS, Electronic Brake force Distribution, Vehicle Stability Control, Emergency Brake Assist, and Traction Control. Full airbag protection is provided by front, side, curtain side and driver?s knee airbags.
The comfort and luxury features pack includes dual zone climate control, leather seat facings, electric 8-way adjustable front seats, one touch electric windows front and rear, electric remote side mirrors, and a leather covered steering wheel with satellite audio controls. Cruise control provides for relaxed long distance cruising.
In the 'Advanced' specification grade buyers can choose between a 5-speed manual transmission or a 4-speed automatic transmission. Both models are powered by an advanced technology direct injection petrol engine. Maximum power is 108kW at 5700 r/min and peak torque is 196Nm at 4000 r/min.
Moving up from the comprehensive 'Advanced' specification level, Toyota offers two models in the 'Exclusive' specification grade. At this level xenon HID headlamps are added together with an automatic headlight levelling system and headlamp washers.
Cashew leather seat facings replace the anthracite colour of the 'Advanced' grade. A Toyota turn-by-turn SATNAV system is also included in the 'Exclusive' specification grade as is a radio/CD changer combination with eight speakers.
The 'Exclusive' specification grade offers a choice of either a four cylinder,16-valve VVTi direct injection petrol engine or a latest generation 2,2 litre D-4D common rail, direct injection, turbo diesel engine.
Maximum power available from the 2,4 litre petrol engine is 120kW @ 5800 r/min while peak torque is 230Nm at 4000 r/min. The 2,2 litre D-4D diesel engine produces 110kW at 3600 r/min with maximum torque of 310Nm at 2000-3200 r/min.
The 2,4 litre petrol engine is mated to a 5-speed automatic transmission while the 2,2 litre D-4D diesel engine is mated to a 6-speed manual transmission.
All three engine options offered comply with Euro Step IV emissions requirements. Service intervals for all models (petrol and diesel) is 15000km. A five-year/90000km service plan is included in the purchase price.
