STOCKHOLM, Sweden - We all knew it was in the works and in 2013 spy images prove that Aston Martin is indeed preparing a convertible version of its new Vanquish called the Volante.
Our spies captured images of a thinly disguised prototype of the Vanquish Volante in Northern Sweden undergoing winter testing.
ALMOST READY
The only part of the car hidden from view was the boot lid as the automaker's engineers placed a fake cover over the integrated spoiler.

Like every other Volante model in Aston's range, the open-top version of the Vanquish features a retractable fabric hood that stows away between the passenger compartment and the boot area.
Under the bonnet, you will find the same 5.9 V12 engine used in the coupe model. The engine is capable of 421kW/620Nm and mated to a six-speed touchtronic 2 auto driving the rear wheels.
Given how ready the prototype looks in these spy pictures, we wouldn't be surprised if Aston Martin reveals the car as early as the Geneva International Auto Show, starting March 5 2013, with sales to follow before the end of the year.
