Peugeot's ix35-fighter revealed

LONDON, England - Peugeot is set earn its share of the SUV market with a new crossover set to take on Hyundai's ix35 and Kia's Sportage - the 2008.
The new crossover is the first vehicle from the French automaker to be designed and developed simultaneously for several international markets. The hope is that its new 2008 will attract a new customers.
The new model builds on the product offensive initiated by the 208, which it is based on, though it has increased ride height and protective mouldings.

At 4.16m long, the 2008 will combine characteristics of a hatchback with those of an SUV sporting a raised driving position, large heel arches and stowage capacity.
The 2008 will be built at the automaker's plants in France (Mulhouse), China (Wuhan) and Brazil (Porto Real).
