TOKYO, Japan - Race-tuned Yaris, hot-hatch hybrids and a host of custom 86 sports cars... Toyota took centre stage at the 2013 Tokyo auto salon with 10 custom vehicles.
Gazoo Racing’s LFA and 86 were also on display and the team has confirmed that both will compete in the 2013 Nürburgring 24-Hour.
YARIS TURBO
GRMN, Gazoo Racing’s tuning arm, showed its Yaris Turbo concept. It's a race-tuned two-door hatch powered by a turbo 1.5 capable of 110kW/205Nm and designed for track use with a tweaked suspension, sport brakes and stronger chasis.
The design expert has added aluminium rims, modified bumpers, new head and tail lights and a body kit. The cabin benefits from sports seats, pedals and steering wheel.

AQUA G SPORTS
Proving that hybrids don't have to be boring, design guru G Sports displayed its take on the Toyota Aqua – a compact, Prius-based hatch launched in Japan in 2012.
The model retains its hybrid engines though the G Sport’s concept gains a style kit, upgraded suspension and improved handling.
The designer showcased its Marx X sedan concept with a carbon-fibre roof.
86 CONCEPTS
The 86 in its standard guise has already attracted worldwide acclaim but it was inevitable that modified versions would begin to pop up. At the 2013 Tokyo saon some of the top vehicle customising experts have produced exciting new concepts based on Toyota’s coupe.
Four models were unveiled - 86 x style Cb, 86 Modellista, 86 TRD Griffon and TOM’S N086V.
