Cape Town - Want to know when the best time to take a road trip is? Before the school holidays. The roads are empty, there's accommodation available and there's very little noise.

My destination was the region of Tsitsikamma in the Eastern Cape, I spent two nights at the Storms River mouth rest camp and then two more at Nature's Valley, about 10km away from Plettenberg Bay.

More commonly known as the Garden Route, because of its diverse selection of vegetation and beautiful lakes and lagoons, it's also one of my favourite parts of the country.

As with all holidays, photographs were taken and loaded on to (insert preferred social media platform here), below you'll find five of my favourite snaps that'll make you want to pack your belongings into a duffel bag and head down or up to one of Mzansi's treasures. Safe traveling.

1. The Storm's River Mouth (taken from the suspension bridge).

It doesn't get much better than this.
