Car of the Year finalists named

Johannesburg - The South African Guild of Motoring Journalists has announced the candidates for the 2008 Car of the Year competition (COTY).

The announcement was made in Johannesburg on Friday.

Every year members of the SAGMJ are invited to take part in a mail vote to decide on "semi-finalists" from among the vehicles launched during the year - usually from November of the previous year to October of the current year.

There are NINE finalists for the COTY competition and judging will take place in January.

The winner of the award will be announced in March 2008.

Wheels24 doesn't participate in the SAGMJ's Car of the Year competition.
