"What this means is that all Nissan national sales companies in sub-Saharan Africa now purchase their parts for passenger and light commercial vehicles directly from Nissan South Africa," says Nissan SA's general manager of aftersales marketing Dave Whitfield.
"The main benefit to Nissan and also to our customers in sub-Saharan Africa is shorter delivery times than before, when the parts had to be ordered from Japan.
"Our distributors will be able to react quicker to customers' needs and, in addition, will be able to reduce their inventories, thereby also reducing costs.
"The resultant gain to Nissan SA?s earnings, through increased turnover in our Rosslyn parts and distribution centre, will enable us to improve our contribution to Nissan?s global business plan, NISSAN 180," Whitfield adds.
