The original German premium SUV has been given a grand upgrade in the form of some optional of styling and trim trinkets, all contained in a single package.
Mercedes-Benz’s M-Class is now locally available with the brand’s Grand Edition design upgrade.
What Mercedes has done with the Grand Edition is add some AMG (and other) styling features to the M-Class, catering to customers who desire a level of individualisation for their vehicles.
LIKE AN AMG (A BIT)
The most obvious aesthetic upgrade is an AMG radiator grille flanked by LED illumination-enhanced tinted headlights.
Around the rear of this latest M-Class derivative there are darkened tail lights with embedded LED's and subtle Grand Edition badging with a chromed rear underguard and stylised, rectangular exhaust ends rounding off the upgraded rump design.
Further distinguishing the Grand Edition models from their AMG and standard M-Class siblings are 19-inch, 10-spoked alloy rims. Aluminium running boards and roof rails add both a differentiating visual effect and utility with regards to passenger ingress/egress and loadability.
Move into the Grand Edition M-Class cabin and you’ll notice the performance-biased steering wheel courtesy of a new AMG helm, brushed stainless-steel pedals (with contrasting rubber studs for secure actuation), stainless-steel finishes and a sunroof.
Available on all M-Class models bar the 63 AMG (obviously), the Grand Edition adds that subtle touch of personalisation to ensure your ML looks a little more individualistic, and recognisable, when parked among all the others in the golf club’s members' section.
