Crossing borders? Learn to cope off-road

South African companies are expanding their businesses beyond the country's borders as Africa’s economic growth continues to grow faster than anywhere else.

They know to look to Africa but, despite the continent's huge economic growth, it still faces major challenges with infrastructure development so corporate representatives will, eventually, have to drive on road networks that are seriously underdeveloped.  That is exactly where off-road and 4x4 training can prove invaluable.

DIRT ROADS

Even if your business logistics are limited to within South Africa many corporate fleets include 4x4 and utility vehicles and that's why off-road training for drivers who encounter rough or dirt roads can save their companies huge amounts of money.

Driving on roads that are more pothole than tar requires skills otherr than those we use in more developed areas of South Africa.

Different driving techniques are also required for different off-road terrain, yet there are basics that every off-road driver should know.

The managing director of MasterDrive, Eugene Herbert, explained: “A good course should include basics that apply to most off-road adventures and what you need to safely overcome even the roughest obstacles.

"It should also focus on specific terrain. Knowing how to master such ground can save a company money. The drivers will learn how to use the correct throttle, gravity and momentum for off-road. This often makes the difference between getting through a bad section or getting stuck."

If saving money and time though training drivers how to traverse off-road sounds appealing give MasterDrive a call.
