SA bakkie sales: Hilux dominates the pack (again)

Cape Town - The Toyota Hilux continued its strong charge in 2018 with more than 3300 bakkies sold locally in February.

The Hilux surpassed the 3000-mark by securing 3369 buyers, well clear of second-placed Ford Ranger which managed 2253 sales.

Solid sales for SA

The Nissan NP200 takes the final podium spot with 1690 units, beating the now-independent Isuzu KB with 1216 units. In fifth place is the Nissan NP300/Hardbody with 902 units sold.

The Toyota Land Cruiser bakkie sits pretty in sixth (247 units), staving off a strong charge from  Indian rival Mahindra's Scorpio pik-up. The Scorpio sold a very commendable 214 units locally.

The GWM Steed slots into eighth  with a figure of 178, sixteen clear of the Volkswagen Amarok (162).

The Nissan Navara completes the top ten with 129 units.
