Bentley expands its Bentayga line-up with a powerful V8 oil-burner – the first diesel in the automaker’s history.
Bentayga’s V8 diesel engine has adopted much of the same technology that makes its sibling, the W12, one of the most technically advanced engine in the world.
According to the automaker: "Bentayga Diesel is an SUV for every kind of journey – whether it’s just around the corner or heading to the farthest corners of South Africa. The diesel combines practicality, power and luxury with innovative technology delivering a sublime driving experience."
Diesel power
At the heart of the world's fastest and most powerful luxury diesel SUV is an all-new 4.0-litre V8 engine capable of 320kW/900Nm. The Bentayga Diesel achieves a top speed of 270km/h and accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 4.8 seconds.
The diesel unit provides the lowest CO2 emissions of any Bentley, as well as a range of more than 1000km.
Triple charging
One of the SUV's most striking features is the new 'triple-charging' system. It consists of two mechanical, twin-scroll turbochargers uniquely boosted by a 48V electrical system.
While not technically a turbocharger, the third unit helps eliminate turbo lag for impressive responsiveness and speed, on or off-road, ensuring all 900Nm of torque are available at just 1000rpm.
Extended range
Bentayga Diesel’s extended range of over 1000km is made possible courtesy of its highly efficient engine, an 85-litre tank and a host of technical refinements. The engine also delivers a combined fuel consumption of only 8.0 l/100km.
The SUV features a number of distinctive and exclusive design cues that further enhance its individual character. Subtle styling details include the bold, gloss black matrix grille with a chrome surround and centre bar, along with two twin-quad tailpipes at the rear.
Inside
Inside Bentayga Diesel, distinctive design details created by our expert craftspeople give it a unique look and feel. The fluted seat design is both simple and elegant, with the pattern repeated on the door pads. The 'Bentley' treadplates and the classic 'B' design foot pedals add another subtle touch to the look.
The hand-selected veneers form pure and elegant surfaces throughout the cabin. Each of the 15 surface pieces are shaped by Bentley’s artisans and finished with trademark Bentley attention to detail.

However, one also has the option to select something more suitable from over 100 optional Bentley paint colours, including 12 duo tone combinations, to make the Bentayga Diesel truly individual.
Mulliner Driving Specification
The Mulliner Driving Specification is available as a cost option on Bentayga Diesel. It brings the Mulliner aesthetic to the interior of the Bentayga range. This includes finishing touches such as diamond-quilted seats, drilled sports pedals, embroidered Bentley emblems and a full choice of hide, carpet and interior colour combinations. If you wish to go one step further, the Mulliner department offers a bespoke service in personalisation
