TRACK FOR THE FUTURE? Russian sources say this artist's impression of a racetrack for Sochi will be the home for seven years for a Russian F1 GP.
LONDON, England - Mexico and a new race on the streets of New Jersey are among three Formula 1 GP's listed provisionally on a record 22-round 2014 calendar issued by the governing FIA on Friday.
The inaugural GP of the Americas, to be staged against a backdrop of New York's Manhattan skyline, had looked doubtful earlier in 2013 when it was absent from a draft calendar circulated to teams.
THE HIGHLIGHTS

Race promoter Leo Hindery said: "The entire GP of America team is thrilled to join the 2014 calendar. We look forward to bringing F1 to New Jersey".
The Korean GP, which moves from October to April 27, and the return of Mexico City as the penultimate race on November 16 after a 22-year absence also had asterisks against them on the list published by the International Automobile Federation.
Russia will make its F1 debut in the 2014 Winter Olympics venue city of Sochi on October 5 and Austria's Red Bull-owned Spielberg circuit will return (June 22) after a decade off the calendar.
Whether the long-awaited New Jersey race is confirmed for June 1 remains to be seen but commercial supremo Bernie Ecclestone and sponsors have long sought a GP on the US East Coast.
The US also has a race in Austin, Texas, scheduled for November 9 but the Indian GP has been dropped, as previously announced, with organisers hoping to return in 2015.
TRIPLE HEADER
The calendar - never before more than 20 races - will see New Jersey sandwiched between Monaco (May 25) and Montreal (June 8).
The novelty of a triple-header, particularly the quick turnaround after Monaco, could pose considerable logistical problems for the teams and will fuel scepticism about it actually happening. Many of the teams are wary of expanding the calendar, which has 19 races through 2013, beyond 20 rounds because of the impact on engineers and mechanics - as well as the extra costs.
One team principal told Reuters after seeing the earlier schedule that contained 21 races: "It remains to be seen which one is dropped."
New Jersey should have had its debut in 2012 but that plan was postponed for financial reasons and Ecclestone has sounded repeated warnings since then. The 82-year-old was quoted by CNN in August (2012) as saying the race "is not on the cards for 2014 because the organisers haven't got any money". In typically contradictory fashion, he also told Reuters separately that he had not written it off.
The 2014 season will start in Australia on March 16, followed by Malaysia two weeks later, and end - as traditional - in Brazil on November 30.
Apart from the triple header, there will be five other back-to-back pairings if the provisional races are confirmed: Malaysia and Bahrain, China and Korea, Germany and Hungary, Russia and Japan and Austin and Mexico.
