This bio-degradable car: Students 'grow' their own ride

Holland - Students from the Eindhoven University of Technology in the Netherlands have created a bio-degradable car. 

Named Lina, the electric-powered car is made from sugar beets resin and covered with sheets of Dutch-grown flax, Reuters reports . 

According to the team, every part of the car is bio-degradable except the suspension and wheels.

It weighs around 310kg and is not legal to drive on Dutch roads yet as it hasn't been given the go-ahead yet by authorities. 

The Daily Mail reports that the Lina is powered by by lithium ion batteries, with a power output of 8kW using 2 DC-motors.

It has a range of 100kms annd is capable of teaching a 80km/h.
