With great sadness we've compiled this photo gallery on the late Gugu Zulu: the fastest brother in Africa! RIP, dear friend.

Matthew Bow

Cape Town - I was a camera operator on the National Rally TV crew for the past eight years with Plan-C Productions.

Through all those years only one driver ever came up to me and asked what my name was, talked and apologised jokingly about covering me in dirt and stones and waiting in the pouring rain to capture his magic in action.

That driver was Gugu Zulu and that meant the world to me.

A great soul

Words can not begin to describe just how amazing, kind and caring Zulu was and his passing has sent shock waves through all the lives of people he touched and were honored to have met him in person.

I can’t begin to imagine the terrible, terrible shock and pain his wife and family must be feeling and his beautiful little girl that has lost an amazing father. The short conversations between us and the way the crowd went wild when he hit the stage will never fade from my memory.

Zulu was an outstanding human being on and off the track and I put together a short tribute video of his last year in the National Rally championship while fighting back the tears.

This video is dedicated to his memory from myself and everyone at Plan-C Productions. RIP Gugu Zulu. We will never forget you, and thank you.
