Cape Town - Former Top Gear host Richard doused 'flames' after James May was captured on camera saying he was "pretty chuffed" that Chris Evans had resigned from the show after one season.
The Daily Mail reported that while the ex-Top Gear trio were filming a segment for their new show,The Grand Tour, in Vicenza in Italy.
Evans quits Top Gear
Evans announced earlier in July that he's quitting the BBC's flagship car show "Top Gear," saying "standing aside is the single best thing I can do."
The revamped show attracted just 1.9 million viewers to its season finale on Sunday.
Roared into the piazza in three supercars
May was asked for his reaction to Evans' fall from grace, May quipped: 'Very chuffed'.
The appearance of the trio at the Piazza, with Clarkson in an Aston Martin drew a massive crowd.
Clarkson tweeted: 'People of Italy James Richard and I will be filming in the Piazza Dei Signori in Vicenza tomorrow at 3pm. Come along'.

However, Hammond and Clarkson then took to Twitter and blasted the Daily Mail's article.
