Car in flames in Orange Street, Cape Town

Cape Town - Firefighters have responded to a burning car which went up in flames on Orange Street, Gardens on Tuesday afternoon, City of Cape Town Fire Services have said.

The vehicle appears to be a Renault Scenic.

Spokesperson Theo Layne said it was not yet clear what caused the fire.

“There were no other cars involved in the incident, so it is not the result of an accident,” he said.

No injuries have been reported.

Lane said the road remained open as the vehicle was not directly affecting traffic.
