Abu Dhabi, Dubai - Renowned for its large collection of high-speed pursuit cars, Dubai's police force has a new addition to its fleet - a Porsche 918 Spyder hypercar, Germany's Auto Motor und Sport magazine reports.
Only 918 of the petrol-electric hybrids have been built. The Spyder features twin, silky-smooth electric motors mated to a V8 engine. The result? It's capable of a blistering 661kW!
Growing supercar fleet
The combination makes the Porsche Spyder one of the quickest sports cars on the block and ideally equipped to reach crime scenes in a hurry or curb illegal speed merchants.
The Porsche shares a police garage in the desert state with a Lamborghini Aventador, a Bugatti Veyron and an Audi R8.

A pricetag of $816 000 for the Spyder did not deter Dubai's crime busters who like to tell the world about their highway patrol cars via the social media network Twitter.
The most powerful machine in its cop-car fleet is a Bugatti with more than 700kW on tap. If thieves in Dubai take to the desert, an offroad Brabus B63S 700 Widestar SUV should stop them in their tracks.Dubai Police Add Porsche 918 Spyder To Growing Supercar Fleet https://t.co/Ked4LdPTfm pic.twitter.com/m2ZjIB1oq8
