Yaris gets five stars

Toyota?s new compact B-segment car scored 35 points for adult protection, the best score for Toyota in this stringent vehicle safety test,

The new Yaris also scored three stars for child protection (34 points or 68%) and two stars (18 points or 49%) for pedestrian protection.

The Yaris has driver and passenger front and side airbags, curtain shield airbags and a driver?s knee airbag, and there is a seat belt warning buzzer (with variable intensity buzzer) for both front seat passengers.

Yaris features seatbelt pre-tensioners and load-limiters in the front seats as well as ISOFIX anchorages for the child seats.

All models in the new Yaris range have ABS (anti-skid brakes), electronic brake distribution (EBD) and brake assist (BAS).

The 5-star rating for adult protection for the new Toyota Yaris follows similar five star scores for the Toyota Corolla Verso, Prius and Avensis.
