Western Cape crash videos 2012

In December 2011 we reported on the Western Cape's Safely Home campaign launching a series of videos showing crashes and road accidents in the province.

The aim of the campaign was to highlight the dangers of reckless driving in the Cape. Since its launch, the videos has garnered nearly 400 000 views online.

In September 2012 the Cape Transport and Public Works will be launching its next series of videos as part of its government viral safety campaign.

The videos are taking by CCTV cameras across the province and are not for sensitive viewers or those under the age of 18.

Earlier in September, we reported on a 10km/h reduction of all speed limits being planned for the Western Cape. This means city speeds limits will be dropped to 50km/h and the main-road limit to 110km/h.

Since publication we've had a huge response from Wheels24 readers.
